Dreaming of dead people

Last night I had quite a weird experience that i'm sure many of you have also had. I dreamt about my friend's grandmother who died over a year ago. She lived on my road so I used to see her all the time and I was quite upset after she past away. Anyway, it felt like one of those dreams that carries a lot of meaning. We were outside in the sun and she had hung up exactly 30 carpets and was knocking the dust out of them. For some reason it was as though she was still alive but my friend, his mum and his grandad (the latter two are now actually dead as well) were dad. when I asked her what she was doing all she said was;

"patience, it's all over now"

It was strange because it was as though I was talking to her beyond the grave. My mum was telling me about one that she had had about her father (who died when she was 14). When he had been alive she had caught him smoking and she had said; 'you're not allowed to smoke' to which he replied that he was 'keeping the bugs away'. In her dream AFTER he had died, she re-lived exactly the same moment except when she said; 'you're not allowed to smoke', he replied; 'AH! But I can now'.


I was wondering, has anyone else had a dream like this? And if so, what did you make of it?

my father died june 2, 2011 after a long bout with cancer. every great once in a while since then, i find myself with him in some innocuous situation like eating breakfast at the table, both of us reading something. i dont remember him saying anything useful in these dreams, tho i wish that he would.

These dreams are really not uncommon. The Mind works off of what you do. If you even think of it, day dream it. Your mind can manipulate it to bring forth memories,and even in some cases a form of premonition that is impossible for us to understand. That is why we experience deja' vu, as well as if we had a strong connection with the person in question. On a final note you could attribute it to being in tune with the Force on a level. For everything eventually comes back to the earth from which we were made (in most religions) and as such we all go into a spiritual sanctuary where we wait until we choose to come back, or if we feel the need to warn or communicate.

Again, this is how I perceive it, I have these dreams quite often and I feel blessed for them, It allows me to see my friends and family as I knew them in life.

I would meditate on that one.

I ask my shaman friend once if he could tell me what my dreams mean and he told me "you must look inside your self for those answers dreams are different for each person because the message with in them is tailored to that persons understanding".

If there is a message with in it is only ment for you to find out look for something that stuck out at you with in the dream it could help.
