Welcome everyone, to this occasion of bestowing Knighthood upon a worthy member of our Order. Let us begin the ceremony in reflective prayer:

Steady me, as I step further down the path that you have lead me.
Let me slow my breath, even when the world demads I run, 
So that I may feel the force
The whisper in the wind,
The hum in the tides,
The pulse beneth the earth ,
The beat within my own chest.

Tonight, let the Force flow through all of us;
like a light in the darkness we are scrambling through.
Clear, Fierce, focused and unashamed of the truth.
Sharpen my courage and steady my heart.
remind me that its okay to fail, but that I dont need to apologize for those failures.
Each step I take towards the light cuts through the dark.

Grant me the ability to walk this path with:
Humility-- not because I am small but because of how vas I wonder;
Compassion-- that I am able to not only give it freely but accept it when given to me.
Wisdom-- grant me the ability to not only seek it, but accept it
Resiliance- to face my hardships without breaking- because Ive broken many times before- 
but each break has made me stronger and shown me that I have a strength I never knew I had.

Guide me to honor the Jedi way
In thought, action and choice I claim.
Let me recognize actual truth
with open mind, and heart listening ,
and with a spirit waiting to rise
even when stroms howl and scream
and doubts drag me down into the shadows.

I am never alone.

You have come a long way Kelly, and it has been an honor to see you grow, not just in your writing, not just in your journals, but in your heart. From the day you first asked me for help with an IP lesson, to this moment where you stand as a Knight, It has been my joy to walk this path with you and watch you blossom like a rose…. my pride in you is immeasurable!

I remember the first time we ever talked. You were filled with so much doubt, you felt so unworthy, and the weight you were carrying every day of your life seemed too much for your shoulders. And yet tonight, here you are. You are ready. Not because of the lightsaber at your side, not because of the trials you’ve endured thus far, and not because of the hundred+ essays you have composed…but because you have learned the most difficult lesson of all…that being a Jedi isn’t about what you do….it’s about who you are! And you Kelly, are someone who is sweet, honest, compassionate, hardworking, fun, determined, dedicated, supportive, imaginative, creative, and smart enough to solve any problem thrown at you…and if those arnt the traits of a Jedi Knight, then I guess I don’t know what’s what anymore

Going forward, I want you to remember this… Being a Knight is not an end. It is a beginning. Life won’t magically become easy, and your trials are far from over, however now you face them not as a student, but as a teacher in your own right, armed with the tools to take on whatever life throws at you, and ready to help others through their own struggles. To the temple, you are now a leader, teacher, and a guide. But to me, you will always be so much more:

You're someone to laugh with on a gloomy day (even if nothing seems funny)

You’re my lady to jam out and sing 80s music with (even if others can hear)

you're the person to explain anime to me (even if I don’t get it)

you're my person to get me to try new foods (even if it’s against my will)

you're one of my very closest friends (even if we live 300 miles apart)

and most importantly…. You're my family!

You have made me proud beyond words, and I will always stand by you, no matter what, no matter when, no matter where….i will be there. Our paths will always be intertwined

First, I want to say thank you for all of you that have dropped in and shown up for me for this big moment.

Reaching it has been a long, winding journey — the amount of learning, unlearning, and figuring out who I was becoming along the way was not something that I was truly expecting when I first started on this path.

Though Im very proud of myself for hitting this rank, reaching Knighthood isn’t something one does alone. I got here because people showed up for me — challenged me, supported me, and refused to let me get in my own way.

I want to thank my Master first of all, Master Zero. Your guidance, your patience, and your ability to push me exactly when I needed it made a lasting impact. You helped me make sense of the path, even on the days when I couldn’t see it myself.

I want to speak especially about my Master, Master Zero.

As an instructor myself, I know that it is hard to first figure out how your student learns-- you hope and want them to learn like you do-- because that is the easiest way to connect with your student. However, we found that I was very different from what you were use to, and when you recognized it, instead of trying to force me into a box- you did the opposite. You didn’t expect me to think, write, or learn the way anyone else did. You trusted me to do it on my own. You watched how I processed things — the way my thoughts unfold, the way I absorbed information — and instead of trying to change me, you adapted to me. Only bringing up the need to work on something as a way as a true reminder, in the kindest way possible, that I still needed to do my work. That kind of teaching is rare. It made me feel seen, understood, and capable--and one that I hope I convey to my own students.

One Instance that I want to call notice to is when plans fell through for an Orion Jedi family gathering; you didn’t brush it off and say "ah well next time". You went above and beyond trying to find another way for me to be there; looking for airlines, looking for train tickets and demanding that you would pay for me to get there. You wanted me included. You wanted me to feel part of it; and that meant more than I could possibly describe.

But what meant even more was this:
You also noticed when I started to get overwhelmed. You saw it, even in your need for me to be there — and without me having to say the words — you didn’t push, pressure, or guilt me when I said "No". You backed off with kindness. You let me have space to deal with the panic and pressure I was working through without making me feel like I was failing or disappointing anyone. That level of understanding stays with someone. It will stay with me to the end of my days.

I also want to thank my Jedi family — people like Morko, Roz, Tavi, Rini and so many others — who checked in with me both in and out of the Discord, encouraged me, provided a leanding ear when needed and  made sure I was good and reminded me that growth was happening even when I didnt feel it. You all made the journey so much lighter, richer, and incrdibly less lonely and heavy.

This moment means a lot to me.
Not because of the title, but because of how far ive come and because of everyone who helped me reach it.

I want to thank each and every one of you, for the push, direction and bouncing ground you provdied me. You. Got. Me. Here.
