2012 Year End Report
We, the Council, hope that you are doing well in this New Year....
Back in January 2012, we started a "Annual Report"...
It was small, not a lot of information on it, as we didnt think to start it until about a month before the New Year...
So, we kept a little list of our accomplishments... We may have missed a promotion, or a fact here and there, but the largest part of things are covered here....
As well as some general facts about TOTJO...
Ready?
++++++++++++++
From January 1st to December 31st, we had 3,842 unique user names sign up... Most never come back...
810 of them filled out applications...
A two-thirds took the Oath too, making them Temple Members....
And only a few are still active...
+++++++++++++++
In 2012, we had quite a few promotions...
We have had 7 Knightings...
Akkarin, 1/26
Wescli Wardest, 7/2
Angelus, 8/17
Adder, 9/5
V-Tog, 9/18
Learn_To_Know, 10/17
Phortis Nespin, 12/5
As well as a few promotions in the Clergy side of the house:
Damion Storm, to Priest, 2/5
Aceboizor, to Minister 5/4
Darren, to Minister, 6/12
Akkarin, to Deacon, 7/4
Phortis Nespin, earned his Minister License, and with his Knighting, was promoted to Deacon...
Damion Storm has earned the Bachelor Divinity (B.Div.), through the Degree Program we offer here at TOTJO...
V-Tog, earned her Minister License, and with her Knighting, also earned her Deacon status...
Welcomed back to Council late in 2011, was GrandMaster Neaj Pa Bol, Matriarch of TOTJO, and one of the original founding members...
Knight V-Tog was also promoted to Vice President of Clerical Matters, as well as a seat on the Council of TOTJO...
++++++++++++++++++++++
Financially, it has not been a bumper of a year, but, the lights are still on... lol...
From the first of January 2012 to the 31st of December 2012,
Donations have totaled $788.00 US dollars.
Of which:
-part was taken by paypal as fee.
-68.81 pound sterling were spent on hosting
-143.48 euro were spent on hosting.
-400 US dollars were spent on hosting
-6 pound sterling research
-2.50 US dollars on research
-30 Pound sterling for the UK companies paperwork.
Balance on the 31st: 64.48 US dollars
We don't harp on donations, but I heard/read someone comment on how TOTJO was a "free" thing one could do with their free time...
TOTJO is not "free"... We never ask for money, but someone has to pay for the various charges incurred by even a virtual Church....
I would like to make that comment every time I see someone talk about a physical location...
But, we need the dreamers too...
So, while we do not, and will never, charge for anything TOTJO, or permit advertising, its not quite free...
+++++++++++++++++++++++
Also, we always have ongoing projects...
Internationalization of the site is still moving forward...
Right now I believe we have English (obviously ), German, French, and Spanish versions under way...
If you would like to help, please contact Councillor Ren...
++++++++++++++
As well as the Degree Scheme is still building larger, and becoming more refined...
Councillor Senior Knight Damion Storm has been continuously, and tirelessly, working to improve upon its current incarnation...
+++++++++++++++
The Initiate's Program is always under scrutiny... Overall, people seem to enjoy it, and it is not without its flaws and critics, but hey, who isn't?
+++++++++++++++
The Seminary has seen some recent movement, such as being returned to the main site...
And with Knight V-Tog's promotion to Vice President of Clerical Matters, her, and Pastor Mark Anjuu, have been discussing some needed updates, and overall general improvements....
+++++++++++++++++++++++
Relating to Public Relations, we have had a few members go out of their way, (and at their own expense) to promote TOTJO... We would like to say "thank you" for your work...
The Public Relations Department has been, almost exclusively, a one person show, but Council is looking at things to see how we might become more proactive....
Details soon...
+++++++++++++++++++++++++
Gatherings are happening more and more, both TOTJO, and community wide...
Although it happened just two weeks ago, so it is technically in 2013, the Arizona Jedi have had a couple of "meet ups"... One a couple of weeks ago, and one in 2012... They were small, informal affairs, but no less important in the "getting to know each other" kind of way...
Last year in 2012, we had two TOTJO UK gatherings... And one in the planning stages already for this year I believe...
And we were represented by a few TOTJO members at a Jedi Community wide gathering in last spring, early summer of 2012...
Where we had our first live Knighting...
Hopefully, they get so numerous that every Jedi, everywhere, and our extended families (those others in the community who do not call themselves jedi), will be meeting once a month, somewhere...
And then the next step of weekly...
++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The actual site itself...
What can be said?
Ren, has worked wonders... It is absolutely fantastic...
And Ren has ask me to thank everyone for their helpful ideas, comments and suggestions, both here on the current TOTJO site, as well as the input for the next version already in the works...
But, he can only work on the technical aspects of TOTJO... Trying to make sure I don't screw anything up to badly... lol...
We all go into the makings of this site.... Admins, Knights, Apprentices, Novices, Temple Members, Guests, and trolls... lol, yes, even the trolls are part of what makes TOTJO.... You can't appreciate the sunshine without a little rain...
I am sure I have forgotten to mention someone, or some event...
And, I apologize...
There is always "something" happening, someone doing their part....
So please, add to this thread... There are highs, and lows throughout the year....
Tell us your memories....
New people join, people that were here for years, leave us... This is all the cirlce of life... (cue Lion King soundtrack, lol)
But it is the members, you guys and gals are TOTJO...
Br. John, Mark Anjuu, Ren, Damion Storm, Neaj Pa Bol, V-Tog, and myself, are here to ensure it continues forward, with your help...
Want to thank you for a wonderful year!
And to a better and better future...
We love each and every one of you...
Thank You...
And, of course...
May the Force be with You!

Now this got me thinking. What research could have been done with that kind of money? My best guess is... what effects 15 cups of coffee have on a Jedi knight.

I would like for us to have more funds to spend on research and maybe even start a relief fund to provide aid to those in need.

Make a budget for 2013 then we can have a goal.

Because most people just join up super "committed" then realise it's not going to be a breeze and that it requires hard work...their enthusiasm falters when the hard work is put before them....this is what separates those whom want to be here and those that just come for the "highs"

My only concern, and that it may sound like we are asking for donations...
And as a policy, we don't...
And as a personal matter, we really hate asking folks for money...
We ask that folks do what they can......

Don't be. You're a nonprofit organization with a very modest budget with full public disclousure. If you were asking for millions or were using funds extravagantly I'd be concerned.
Post you needs and costs and WE can decide if we want to donate.
