What brought you here?

From people who were here at the start, to the new temple member. Something brought you here, whether you stumbled across or you heard it from someone else, tell me how you got here. What made you stay, and what did you gain from your time here?

I have no idea how I found this site. Just kind of stumbled upon it and it sounded like a hoot so I thought I'd check it out. Turned out to be pretty interesting with some solid ideas. That's why I've stayed.

What I've gained is patience and a rekindled interest in learning...actual learning by actually sort of working instead of just coasting by.

I felt I needed a new direction and perspective in life. Also, my respect for what the word "Jedi" meant to me led me to pursue becoming a real Jedi.

Throughout my time here, I have not only gotten a new direction and perspective, but I feel I've also gained a good support system.

There is an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us; it binds the galaxy together. I was investigating this and it led me here.

I really can't remember how I found this site in particular, but I've just sort of been around on Jedi sites a long time and I probably heard about it from another Jedi site.

a jedi i met during the occupy movements heyday directed me here, long ago in a galaxy far, far away.

They say, "The Lord helps those that help themselves"...

I needed some help, life was suckin', bad... I thought about death, a lot...

But I'm no coward...

I said, "self, we need some help, and if I can't find it in God, then 'f* it!*, I'll help myself...

So, I looked into becoming ordained, making a "Jedi" religion/belief system...

Found a few sites, I felt most at home here at TOTJO, and decided to stay...

Now, im trying to give back...

I doubt I can ever repay how it made/makes me feel....

I remember I was writing an essay on a book a had taken and school, and somehow, through the powers of the internet, i'm now a member. :ohmy:

The Force, of course!

In all honesty, it was when my husband received a copy of The Jedi Path. I started wondering about Jediism as a religion and knew I would find something if I looked it up. I found quite a bit, read about it, found a lot of role-playing sites but knew that wasn't even remotely what I was looking for - I wanted something real. Only after joining here did I realize that most of it has to come from within, regardless of where you go. For me, this has become an extremely personal journey. I read the forums daily and try to learn from what others post as opposed to the way I did things when I first started...

I was doing my own thing about spirituality and someone showed me the link to a youtube vid of Joseph Campbell taking with/about George Lucas so I did a search for Jediism and looked around. It fitted, joined the dots for what I was already doing, resonated with me etc, so I stayed!!!
