What is the nicest thing that you have ever done and what is the nicest thing you have ever had done for you.

The nicest thing done for me was when I lived very poorly with no money to the family and days would go with no food and a woman had seen me alone sitting on a curb and she invited me to dinner with her family. I was 7 years old and that was the beat meal I had ever had. I based my life to do good because of that experience.

The nicest thing I have done for someone was when I went to new york and on the subway was a homeless man. Thinking back to what that woman did for me, I gave him everything I had in my wallet, close to 200 dollars. He cried and hugged me. I had no money for months but I didn't care.

The nicest thing i've done? I don't know. I'm always there for people, people come to me with their problems and I try and help what I can. Currently, that's what i've been able to do.

The nicest thing that has actually happened to me? Most people look at it and just kind of laugh at how simple they think it is, but it meant a lot to me. I went to the movies, taking my little brother to see the Toy Story triple feature in 3D. Upon arriving to the movie theaters and getting to the cashier, I requested the tickets for the movie and found out I was actually a dollar short. A single dollar, and the woman stared at me with an uncaring blank expression. I was heartbroken, as I saw the excitement on my younger brothers face just disappear in that instant. As I walked away an older man who was there with his family, stopped me and asked me what happened. I told him it was nothing, I was just off a dollar so I couldn't see the movie. That man insisted that I take a five dollar bill he had on him, and told me to enjoy the movie. I thought that single act would have made my day, but after my brother and I walked into the movie and sat down I felt a little disappointed that I couldn't get him a drink or any popcorn as it was his first time at the movies. This guy, came out of nowhere again and in his hand he had a large popcorn, and two sodas. Evidently we were there to watch the same thing, and as he walked towards us I figured he was just going to walk by to his family, since I watched them walk over to the opposite lane. He lowered the food and drinks down to our level and just said " Enjoy the movie. " No expectation for a thank you, just out of the kindness of his heart. I don't know who that guy was, but that will forever be a moment I won't forget because my brother had the time of his life, and it was only possible because of that guys random act of kindness. My brother had the ticket framed and put in his room, and he nor I can look at that ticket without smiling now. I am forever grateful, to that random stranger.

I practice random act of kindness when opportunity presents itself. It make me happy. Could be anything. Last one, a lady let me go ahead of her in the grocery check out line because I had one item and her cart was full. I left a $1 with the cashier for her groceries. I was out of the store before she knew. :-) :)

I can't really think of the nicest thing I've done (I must not be that nice of a person  ) but one summer when I was walking through one of our parks admiring the baby owls I noticed that it was full of garbage. Ewww. So the next day I brought my pickup, a box of trash bags, and my work gloves. I was about 3 bags in when I started getting "Thank yous" and 4 bags in when people started to join in. It looked ten times better when we were through and everyone who joined in had fun. Especially since they'd never noticed the owls before. :)

I've had a lot of nice things done for me but the one that affected me the most was when a friend asked me if I was okay. I was having a bad day and I've never had anybody care about me emotionally before. I'm not a crier but it made me cry. Thank God it was over the phone and he didn't have to see that. lol

The only nice thing i have done is what i am doing right now, which is volunteering at a Charity Shop. I try to help people where i can and i think that doing this is a good thing to both get work experience and do something for someone else for free.

Well, I helped raise two beautiful girls (nieces), but that technically I dont count, there blood, and I'd give my life for them at a moments glance, and they both know it. There was a neighbor Joyce who lived down the street, she went riding with this guy who had been drinking, a car crossed their lane, threw them both off. It hurt her pretty bad, she ended up getting a rod put in her leg, and basically couldnt get around, so I started walking her dog, and did odd errands to help out. This was a daily thing for four months. She finally got an infection and was forced to lose the dead weight, (thankfully), and then all of sudden was able to get out and start living life. Being that I practically didnt know her when I started helping her out, I suppose that counts. As far as myself, ive never really experienced real acts of random kindnesss, unless its like a ride home from work when I didnt have one. Not that that matters either, im not keeping score, thats not what its about, is it? I like this thread, its alot more relevant than alot of recent threads (like the ones concerning what members are stuffing their faces with). We should as individuals be on the constant lookout for opportunities regarding random acts of kindness, I do hope more members post in this thread keeping it active...

I was driving home from work one day and seen this woman in a van with the hood up. I pulled over and she looked like a wreck, and everything this woman owned was inside. She told me she had been living in her van for months and had no money and now her van, her home was broken down. She was from Kentucky and this was in Ohio. Her van broke the alternator belt and also a busted hose for the radiator. I told her That i would help and we got her van to my house which was a short distance. I bought her parts and told her she could get a shower and picked her up some taco bell. When i got back to the house she was in tears and i called my dad to help fix her vehical. I invited her to stay at the house for the night and she had told me and my wife her story and how thankful she was, in the morning i gave her 50 bucks and filled her van she left. She said she had not slept that good in months. A few months later she had stopped in my house and said that she got a job at Honda from what i told her as far as where work could be found in the area. She said if I had not helped her that day she would of tried to get back to Kentucky and never got the good paying job she had.

I lost my wallet when i visiting a friend from out of state, I had my visa card to get home on which I left in my coat when i filled up with gas. After I got home on a Sunday. I had a call on my answering machine that a man found my wallet and mailed it back to me, It had 760 dollars still in it and nothing was taken, Im still friends with this guy to this day.

Today I was at an exhibition representing the company I work for. In the afternoon a family with four children (I guess) were at the stand across from ours. A little girl stood there, annoyed waiting for her family to go on. So I went to her and asked her if she wanted a booklet about some local animals. She took one, was a bit happier and went on with her family.
But then she came back and searched for something in her pocket. I had no idea what she was doing. Then she pulled out a gummi bear and gave it to me. I was overwhelmed by her action. The purity of her heart was so moving.
This my not be The Nicest thing someone did to me but it was something that I will remember. Often the little actions are the ones that count.
