Your TOTJO needs you!
So I'm just picturing Metsu and Akkarin handing out flyers, when someone asks "what is Jediism?" "What do you guys believe in?" etc. etc.
Akkarin awnsers these questions from his own perspective, when suddenly metsu interrupts him saying he sees it in a (totally) different way!
What I'm getting at is, that altho not everyone believes the same things, shouldn't there be a format which globally outlines awnsers to questions which you might expect when introducing jediism to people?
(If there already is, pls post or redirect me to it
)As for marketing, one thing i picked up during classes is that marketing starts with a mission and a vision.
So what is TOTJO's reason for existence?
And what would we like to see TOTJO become in the next 10 years?
And as last, my girlfiends sister is a fanatic volunteer for an animal shelter in Spain called Scooby, www.scoobymedina.org (See how easy promoting something is
One of the things they do to raise money is having auctions on facebook. It's just people commited to the cause offering all kinds of things they don't use or don't want or made themselfs for the cause. Think dog collars, paintings, bracelets, cups, keycords, special scooby calenders..anything you can imagine.
Just a big online marketplace with all the revenue going straight towards the cause.
I've seen there are alot of creative people here, so starting somthing like that and simply inviting anyone you can imagine might create a nice form of income. Although this is an incidental way of raising money ofcource.
Maybe it works for TOTJO to, or maybe it doesn't ^^

I have sales and marketing experience. If there is a way I can help out?
Rickie
There's always a way you can help out...possibly suggesting ways we can market TOTJO is a start...
Do the powers that be have a marketing plan? That would be agood start. I wouldn't want to do something without their guidence and support. A discussion can be done via PMs if they wish.
I've been in sales and marketing since 1982. I'm willing to disclose and verify my background and personal information with managment via PM for confidential reasons just so you know I'm not some internet crackpot.
I may have a imaginative sense of humor and love paradox a little too much but I really just a simple and harmless guy.

First thing is what do we do now? I don't know. Do we do anything?
Do we have links or feeds from other religious or philosphical websites that we may have things in common with?
What do we do with facebook? I can't view it from work.

Our facebook page is pretty active. It has 1519 'likes' and is generally updated several times a day with inspirational quotes/pictures, formal announcements, and sermons.Rickie The Grey wrote: Do we have links or feeds from other religious or philosphical websites that we may have things in common with?

I don't believe that we really associate much with other religious or philosophical websites...perhaps this is something that we could look at in the future.

Do we get members via Facebook?
Does everyone here link their Facebook account to this Forum?

Well then the first thing we need to do is make a list of groups we have things in common or overlap with, Taoist, Zen groups, Alt Religons etc.
Lets make a nice big list of websites:...

Occasionally, yes, I do notice people coming here saying "I saw your page on facebook"...
Whether it's more than one or two a month (or less
