Current Studies or Focus? was created by
So what're you studying at the moment? What's your current focus in life? Are you working on your physicality or your intellect? Esoterics or bodybuilding?

I'm still chugging away at the weight loss but also shifting into more of a body development phase. Targeted fat loss and muscle development, mostly with a focus on eliminating my ass and love handles and building on the appearance of my upper body so I can get away with a bit of weight gain.

As well, I'm reading through Liber Nicht and learning the basics of chaos magic. I'm also looking for some practical psychology texts. Raven at the Force Academy has recommended me some, and there's nobody else I hold in higher esteem in that department.

I hope she reccomended the DSM 4 in that department, as it is the bible of modern diagnostic psychology. Soon to be superceded by 5, tho.

I'm trying to make fitness part of my every day life. I like running but I have to watch out because I've had two knee surgeries I don't want to reinjure. But being active every day is best for the body. Especially as we get older. We need to keep the fluid in our joints moving and our motion powered lymphatic system going.

Reading, I'm working on the "Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are" and also researching more into healthy embodiments of the mature masculine. The book "King, Warrior, Magician, Lover" is were I got started with it but I can't seem to find enough about it. It's very interesting. And honestly, I think that book and books like it are not by nature only specific to males. I think all of it has application for women and their journey to their embodiment of the mature feminine.

Force abilities wise, I have been working on my control of focus durring the times I do since things. I used to catch a hint of something, then my head would get wrapped around it trying to analyze it, in-turn muddying the waters so to speak making an honest assessment extremely difficult. This used to be most difficult when interacting with people. I seem most sensitive to peoples thoughts and feelings. Allowing myself to sense without making 'judgement' or 'label' for what I notice, allows me to keep "listening" to the situation without my own mind or reactions getting in the way. It's all a mater of balance in the end. But that is definitely an improvement in my life. Any one else have issues with keeping their mind out of their sensing of things?

About the practical psychology texts though. I happen across a number of great books depending on what you're going for. If you want a straight forward, need no previous psychological training, but still gives an in-depth knowledge to dealing with psychology specifically on the practical level... "A Guide to Integral Psychotherapy".

The other one I was going to mention was if you were looking more for internal development psychology. Not entirely sure if it would best be classified as such, but "The Farther Reaches of Human Nature" (which you might be able to find online for free or a few cents at a used book store)

Keep up your training everyone! Every little step in the right direction makes us better than we were.
