Depends, if they are Jedi- it's to change legislation if they truly believe in the cause, while remaining respectful to the law. That said, the Patriot riders are also respectful to the law which is why they can counter protest the WBC.
If they are Sith- it's a personal choice whether they want to get involved.
Can't tell you what the Shadow's feelings would be towards something like this, I imagine they fall in line with the Sith. And the Baran Do would probably fall in with the Jedi.
