Leaving the Nest

It's about that time that I fade out for yet another one of my hiatus'. I'd like to take the time to focus on school and work, and the dead ends i've encountered here aren't really conducive to the pursuit of philosophical and intellectual stimulation and achievement that i've always searched here for. I'd like to keep in touch outside of TOTJO with anyone who is interested in doing the same, so message me about exchanging e-mail addresses or Facebook information; I won't leave until i've settled things with my friends.

I couldn't agree more with what you've said here, Angelus. Although I never made a formal declaration, I've been quite absent over the past few months.
I have friends on Facebook who I have fantastic conversations with. Actual conversations and even heated debates that don't turn into... well... this. lol

Well, LTK, I i'm fairly certain we have different motivations for being here, as well as different desires, goals, and interests. At this point in my career as a Jedi, I find myself unable to satisfy my own intellectual and philosophical interests and pursuits, but that doesn't mean that there is nothing here for me, and that certainly doesn't mean that you can't achieve all of the success and stimulation that you're searching for. Your experience here is entirely your own, and my own failings shouldn't influence you.

And to clarify, I DO intend to come back. I'm very busy with school and my job, and I could use a break from the tedium of forum-stalking (not that anyone else does that!). I have every intention of remaining an active Jedi, i'd just like to wait until i've caught up with my other priorities.

I have enjoyed what conversations we have had and I wish you well

We never met Angelus but I've been on enough websites to know that most people do not even take the time to say goodbye. It tells me that you are a responsible young man and I like the fact that you finish things well. We should all learn from your example.

If I was a senior member of this Jedi site, this thread would raise alarms. How many other members are disastisfied? It might be a good time to take a look inside this organisation and start asking serious questions. What do members like of this Jedi site and what don't they like? What would most members liked changed? Is this a religion or a philosophical debate forum? How does Joseph Campbell tie in to Jediism? Is it necessary to watch 6 hours of Joseph Campbell video to become a Jedi? Can we change the current training program? Is the master student relationship really working?

I might be new to this website but I'm not new to Jediism. When I take a look around the internet, there aren't many Jedi sites left opened. If we don't start asking the hard questions now, perhaps this website is the next thing to go?
