Those of you that have ever watched my LONG videos on "the Force" know that the group I was teaching were all pagans looking to learn something about the Jedi Path. The group was called Circle of the Rising Moon, and they had this pretty cool practice where they would go around the group and ask each other to talk about a "spiritual reminder" they had experienced over the past week. It served as a reinforcement for them, and a method of passing along wisdom to the group that may need to hear the same message. It was also something that was practiced by the second military pagan group (OkiPagans) on Okinawa, and later became a part of the group that formed from a merging of the two groups- Circle of the Grove.

So I'm starting a thread here for others to share their spiritual reminders as they come up. Here was mine for the week:

It's hard to face the creul realities of this season. As we enter into the beginning of the Fall months and then into winter, we will experience the darkness that follows.

Today, as my son made a milestone, another mother learned that her own 6 year old son's life was robbed from her as her ex-husband took both his son's life and then his own. I do not know this mother, only a close friend of hers of whom is also feeling the emotional effects of the loss.

This serves as a reminder that we all need to have a heightened awareness of our own thoughts and actions, as well as awareness of the signs others may have so we may be able to reach out and help in anyway we can to prevent a tragedy. But also to detach ourselves from feeling somehow responsible in the event someone "slips through the cracks".

(well, for those of us that count ourselves as healers, at least)

That's so very sad. I'm sorry to read that.

My reminder was much more pleasant and direct. Everybody says our ranch (in the Black Hills) is an old and spiritual place and thankfully I got to experience that quiet and solitude. Camping always seems to remind me to just stop and take in the beauty of the world we live in. Everything always seems to work out, things come and go in a cycle, the world doesn't stop even when we think it might. I'm looking forward to going back ASAP.
