A message for you all

I hear a lot of rather banal sentiment here about brotherhood, peace, humility, etc., but isn't the real truth of "the Force" that it has two aspects, and that no matter how hard we try we can never escape the Dark Side? There seems to be little to differentiate Jediism as practiced here from Christianity; both seem desperate to flee the Shadow, to try to exile it to "Hell" or the "Dark Side" rather than to integrate it in a powerful way.

The fact is that there is vast power in the Shadow, and power is mankind's eternal god. Nietzsche said "man needs what is most evil in him for what is best in him," which is a profound insight that explains why great men are rarely good men. He also said "What is good? All that heightens the feeling of power, the will to power, power itself in man. What is bad? All that proceeds from weakness." The ideology I'm hearing here may be "good" in a Judeo-Christian sense, but it will never produce greatness. If you are content with banality and mediocrity then so be it, but I submit that you will continue to lose your best people to the Dark Side.

Interesting opinion but one that is negated by the wealth of information here that provides for every aspect of Jediism, even if you choose to see things as "light" or "dark". Many of us don't accept those terms because we believe all aspects should be considered. Some prefer one way, others another. Denigrating someone's choice of path is contemptuous and narrow-minded.

I make no apology for doing what I can when I need to and if that also includes a vision of global peace and unity, then I count myself among the believers.

As my mother would say, " This is why we can't have nice things."
