rambling thoughts going through my head

ive had this back-of-my-mind desire to create a vigelante character to fight crime (dumb idea, i know), getting inspiration from the watchmen comics.
then i heard of a case in seattle, washington where a guy was the victim of several crimes and decided to mask up and become a crime-fighter in his own right. now my original idea to become a costumed hero doesnt seem quite as stupid (tho i feel dumb writing it).
i need to get myself in better shape and buy a costume before i can think of starting, but im curious to what people are thinking here.

This is brilliant. I can't ever think of anyone who attempts this as stupid. Have you ever seen Griff the Invisible? It's one of the sweetest movies I've seen, but it also brings up thoughts and ideas that are very valid in the now. Though Kick-Ass is the prime example of a successful vigilante with no powers, it's a shame he had the support of Big Daddy with such an enormous big budget.

I remember watching a programme about vigilantes in America (if only I could find it for you), stating that not only were they common, but in places they are praised for their service to the community. Take Phoenix Jones and the Rain City Superheroes for example.

It's doable, Oskirk. Ensure you're on the right side of the law, learn the lay of the land, pack your pepper spray, know when to stand fast and when to run and you're good to go. Oh, and no request for help is too small. If you do this, please let me know how it goes!

May the Force be with you. Always.

it will take time, fortesque. i must aquire a costume, a place that is in need, training to get my body and mind in better shape, and a job that will pay me enough to do these. this is something i feel a call to do for a while now.

it was phoenix jones and the rain city superheroes that i was refering to when i mentioned seattle.

Oskirk, I admire the passion in wanting to help. It is a nobel notion. I do not think this is the way to go about it. Dressing up and going out into a violent world is a good way to get yourself killed. The costume makes you a target and attracts people who want to do harm just for the sake of "the costume". There are some unstable people who lurk about you.

The proper way is to become the best Jedi possible. Your eyes and testimony are your best offense. As a Jedi increase your memory skills and learn to memorize people and vehicles. Become an expert in body langauage. Learn to become aware of "bad" things through the Force before they happen. A criminals worst enemy is the one he does not knows exists. Do not go looking for trouble, it is all around you. It may not manifest itself in a violent manner, it could be someone not assisting the elderly. Learn to discern when you should become involved.

If you want to get in the violent mix of things, become a police officer, you'll get to deal with those who prey on the weak everyday.

"kick ass" is a MOVIE, do not risk your safety on what happens in a movie or comic strip.

Wait till your "rambling thoughts" become clear visions that will serve you and your fellow human being.

was also under the impression a jedi was supposed to put others above himself/herself and that this would be a good way to do so.
