Venus solar transit. was created by
Hello everyone!
I'm sitting outside of my house right now in Northern Japan watching Venus transit across the face of the sun.
I felt it would be best to share this once in a life time event.
NASA currently has a livestream up right now showing the transit. Feel free to tune in for a few minutes if nothing else. Venus will not make this transit again until 2117 so if you can spare the time, I promise you will not regret it!

I wanted to watch it but the sky was a blanket of grey clouds. I couldn't see a thing
I do however have the Sky Walk app which has a real time sky function. It overlays the paths of the planets so you can see where they are when visibility is poor.
It wasn't quite the same as seeing it for real but at least I was witness to it!!

I get that quite often here in Washington State. Last few lunar ecilpses I tried to watch it was too cloudy to see anything in sky. Same with the last "super moon" but at least the "super moon" made some incredibly low tides. Lots of critters in the tides pools

I missed the super moon too because of the clouds. I saw a photo they day after; so gutted I missed it. It looked huge!
