I think everyone experienced it once in their live.
Tho maybe not as extreme as some of the people here.
I've had it a couple of times. But those were just moment of walking around and suddenly having the feeling of having been trough the exact same situation already.
Read about akkarin's explanation before and it actually makes most sense to me.
Tho I dont think it would applie to situations where something happens 2 years after the 'vision'.

I'm not sure what I feel about 'déjà vu'....
Generally when I have a premonition, I feel it in my stomach.

It all depends on how one views the universe, I would think!
I believe that there is a lot out there that the average person will probably never understand. Not all things can be qualified by the scientific means presently available, and if we could… would you really want to know?
Déjà-vu is an interesting event that some are more prone to experiencing then others. And usually not because of any other reason than they may be more in tune to the event at the time of occurrence. I think that time is neither linier nor circular, but rather that it is. We perceive time in the manner that we do because of our own level of awareness. If we were to suddenly stop being corporeal and became unified with the ethereal, how would then perceive time?
Maybe, when we experience déjà-vu, we are not becoming aware of an event that happened as though it were a premonition, but rather momentarily revisiting a moment in what we perceive as time.
The really interesting thing is when you perceive something before it happens and watch it unfold before your eyes. The few times that has happened to me I was in amazement and could nothing more than stand there and watch.

I definately believe in it.
...Alright, now that I've continued Damion's joke (and man, I was going to do that before I even saw he did it first), I'd just like to say... well, I believe in it, in a sense. I don't really think it's much more than a glitch in the brain. I mean, it's not entirely impossible to have similar things occur more than once, but it's also possible that wires can get crossed and you only think that happened. Unfortunately, sometimes this blurs together for me, because I often end up repeating myself anyway.

To elaborate,
I believe it happens, but am not convinced of it being a premonitory experience. Quite, it would be the contrary -- one would be reminded of a premonition that one doesn't remember having until the thing is happening.
Not a very useful premonition in that case ....
On the other hand, if it is brief perceptions of some sort of stimulation going backward in Time - check out the work of Dean Radin, Institute of Noetic Sciences - that may be worth something.

Yes. Would you rather be kept ignorant by a fairytale?

I think the main difference between deja Vu and just being in the same kinda situation is that when deja vu hits you know it does and I for one really feel like I've been there before and like i said before more often then not its been in dreams then its happened later
