I don't think that anyone would expect to. But that's no reason not to be optimistic and hope that one day it might happen.

We can't see into the future, so we don't know if it will...but it certainly wont if us religious folk stay holed up here and refuse to interact with the non-religious community.

Branching out, visiting with the other sites has nothing to do with the religious community...

I don't meet people face to face and spout TOTJO doctrine...

I meet people, talk to the exchange info and have a conversation...

If they wish to discuss religion, fine... Or we can discuss the weather, or juggling tips, or barber names... whatever... lol...

The non religious people place too much significance on whether its a path, or a religion...

Of course, if we come off like virtual jahovah's witnesses, that's not cool either... lol...

V-tog,

I don't think it is possible. There will ALWAYS be people who view it as a religion, and people who don't. It's just like how there are different ideas about how "Buddhism" exists.. is it a Religion? A Path? A Philosophy? Nobody really knows, but they DO all talk to each other. So, I guess it is feasible to bring down that wall of communication, but not of belief.

Jestor,

The non-religious people place so much emphasis on it because they truly believe that it is BAD for the Jedi name to be associated with religion.

I'm curious... are our membership numbers ever published (posted) for each year. Guests ?, Initiates, Guests, Members?, Apprentices, Masters?

We may not be as massive as you think...

More massive than any other group. I think there are a maximum of 7 posts a day on other websites on a GOOD day, and that's around the board.

The ONLY group more active than this is Jedi Church, and it's easy to see why.

So, the things that work can be in that format, and it drives many people who "start" there away. We also harbor many of the Old Guard (members who were from JEDI.org and the moodle academy failure) who tend to be... crabby towards people who are new. hahaha. But, we like are members to grow up really fast.

As for the other sites... what are they really doing? haha. I mean, Jedi School is practically just a Master/Student site with focus on esoterics (scares people away). Nice manual though.

uhhh... a lot are simply inactive. Just Jedi isn't really a training academy, so you cannot expect a large member-base. Barando.org is not a "Jedi" site anymore (used to be Jediism.org and went through various incarnations). Jedi Church, again, is not a training site. OH, and Force Academy is relatively active (and old) (and it takes many, many years to work through the aspects, which is a turn-off).

And! Jedi Foundation, but they are so radical that they refuse to "blend" with the rest of the community.

You might want to review your history.... Jedi realist academy (dunno why people call it moodle academy, moodle was the name of the software they used :O) didn't fail. They claimed there was a problem with the hosting and that somehow the domain needed replacing as well. And thus was born the IJRS. But the academy was very much alive before the switch to IJRS.

Barando is not linked to jediism.org in any way. The guy who created barando created Thejediismway.org and wasn't around when jediism.org was up. barando is a completely new project which I do not think can even be said to be related to Xhaiden's previous (post-TJW) project, jediphilosophy.net

barando and force academy are two communities which arent too keen on even using the word Jedi.... Jedi foundation/jedi academy online isn't a real community, it's just opie mcleod's site, a guy who has as much love for Jediism as your average jihadist has for "the west" for some reason.

Jedi school.... Is affiliated to UK Church of Jediism, is headed by a guy who was excommunicated by totjo.

Activity?

You can see who is here and how often... Ren may be able to supply more numbers...

But, with some quick math, on my spreadsheet right now there are:

7- Cardinals
4- Masters
1- Senior Knight
3- Knight
4- Initiates
185- Novice
487- Temple Members...

The rest are considered guests... I base this off of applications recieved, as it is a must for membership and we get more Oaths, than apps...

I am back as far as February of 2011... Anyone prior to that is not yet on the spreadsheet... Well, maybe a few, if they are still here, or have become active...

On walk-about...

Jedi ain't Saints....
