The things animals go through to get laid are unreal.
I mean, humans will go pretty far... but animals sometimes end up sacrificing their lives just to get some booty.

Perhaps, the male spiders were designed to break off their palps to insure gene diversity; and, keep fathers from siring with future generations of their own offspring. Thus, this would help to eliminate inbreeding and promote a healthy gene pool for the future.

I don't know, if I had the choice between never fulfilling any sexual urge at all and getting eaten alive after my first time.. Castration after a good first attempt might seem pretty reasonable... So glad I'm an ape! No coitus cannibalism! Just "Oh, you want my bunch of bananas?" *monkey sex* "Okay, you can have my bananas! Boy, do I feel swell!"

Yes, that is true.
And rather you believe in creation or evolution both state that there were very few viable possibilities for mating in the beginning for each species to procreate with. So we are all the result of inbreeding to some degree!
