I'd just like to know where the majority of Jedi stand on the political spectrum.
I'm not big into politics, but I have a basic understanding.
Personally, I identify myself as a liberal Democrat (I'm American.)
What about you?

I view myself as a "conservative" that votes for the candidate that is likely to screw things up the least.
And when I say conservative I am referring to the side that believes in supporting our military, respecting traditional values (like the freedoms we hold dear) and small government.
I would like the federal government officials to stick to diplomacy and leave the governing of the individual to the local governments.

I am an issues person. I guess I am, in many ways, an actual centrist. I have mixed beliefs as far as social issues. I'm conservative on abortion and liberal on the death penalty. Fiscally, I guess I lean conservative. I like the small government idea for the most part. I also feel though that if someone is being discriminated against or disenfranchised, the government needs to act. LOL. Like I said, I deal more with the issues than the party lines or the conservative/liberal thing.

I am from canada so our government is more socialist than the states as a whole and i still lean towards the left a bit. (last remnants of my short live anarchist phase when i was 16) but i also vote for who ever would be a better candidate despite their party. but i also believe if there is noone worth votiing for i wont vote for anyone. people always say that you can complain about the government if you dont vote. I dont usually complain about the government anyways.

You have to vote in Australia or you can be fined $$$. Basically divided into two sides - our politcal right are called the Liberals and the left called Labor. Labor is a union backed party and they consider the working class as their heartland, whilst the Liberals would be more business orientated. We do have a third non-aligned party, called the Greens who are a lot smaller and are extreme left... and the current Australian government was not voted in, but had to form a government by agreement with the Greens and a few independants to get the majority to form government. I lean to the political right, but can be swayed by the person if they lie the least, are a realist and agree with my position on the important issues.

I think governments should avoid getting in the way, unless there is harm to the nation (nation = land + people). (so this means environment pollution, and things like environmental health, education, crime)
I think freedom of lifestyle should be guaranteed, not freedom of speech.
And that to improve the situation in our modern western society, we could replace hundreds of (let's be honest: crooked populist arsehole) politicians with a benevolent dictator anytime.

We have the Socialistische Partij (left), Partij van de Arbeid (left), Partij van de dieren (left, animal wellfare), Groenlinks (Left), D66 (center/left), CDA (center/right), VVD (right), PVV (right)
They have to compromise on almost everything cause no one party has the 51/49 majority.
To much sides, to much talking, to little actual action.
