I admit I had wondered about pirates using the protected religious actions/speech defense if they were arrested or accused. Frankly, I doubt it would work as a legal defense, for the reasons mentioned by Akkarin. Still, I remember there was (and may still be) a Church of Google, so this doesn't surprise me too much. Nevertheless, I agree that I can't see this having much spiritual or metaphysical value (but what do I know). I think it will be interesting to see how the media handles this, especially if it gets involved in some kind of legal action in the future.
