Near Death Experience was created by
Greetings Each

In my continuing Study of Ki (The Force). I came across this link via a friend on FB. As I am also doing some work in my Journal at present. I thought I would post this link in here so everyone can have a look. If it helps in any way ...good. If not never mind but any information can be of use. Especially on such a subject. When relating to the Conscious mind and any detachment from it.

Thank you Mike.

Has anyone had a NDE (Near Death Experience) or known someone who has?

Let's use the general definition of NDE as described at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Near-death_experience and at http://iands.org/home.html .

A near-death experience (NDE) refers to a broad range of personal experiences associated with impending death, encompassing multiple possible sensations including detachment from the body; feelings of levitation; extreme fear; total serenity, security, or warmth; the experience of absolute dissolution; and the presence of a light. These phenomena are usually reported after an individual has been pronounced clinically dead or otherwise very close to death, hence the term near-death experience.

A girl I grew up with and went to the same church claims to have had one (she is a few years older than me)

She says it's the reason she's still a Mormon but is very closed-up about the details of the NDE.

I've read two NDE books that were given to me by a Mormon friend (both were NDEs of non-religious folk but after the experience both converted to Christianity, one to a Protestant church, the other to Mormonism).

I also read a book given to me by a Hindu friend that detailed nightmares of a girl that a psychiatrist was able to diagnose as nightmares from past lives. The doctor was non-religious himself but came away believing in reincarnation. (I have that PDF if anyone wants a copy.)

Interesting stuff.

I've never had a NDE but I've had out-of-body experiences and ... wow, they are weird. It really is one of those 'floating above yourself and watching what's going on from an outsider perspective'. It was also chemically induced - I kind of wish I could figure out how to do it without extreme pain. Thus, my desire to get better at meditation.
