Donation to the Temple

There was exactly one vote to keep it. There were zero abstentions. The rest were NO. I only reported to the Treasurer that there was a donation from Church of Jediism cyf. This report is available to all The Council to see. I made no personal comment about it.

Shortly thereafter almost all at the same time there came a flurry of posts concerning it and I was ordered to refund it immediately. Upon the second time there was zero YES votes, one ABSTAIN and the rest all NO.

and if you still seek numbers - 5 'YES' to return the monie on the two occasions.

Just in case you need to know numbers - there were at least 5 not voted on both due to being absent with real world issues - in case your trying to work out the size of our council.

I had no idea that money donated to an orgaisation by anyone for what ever reason can be returned. Does this happen in all organisations??

I am just curious.

Whether this happens elsewhere I could not say, and actually this is the first time this has happened here.

I have seen it happen at other organizations as well, generally in a relatively simliar circumstance as the two parties are in some type of dispute or disagreeance, the money can and at times is returned to keep things form getting out of hand and thus saving both sides grief and it maintains a form of peaceful agreement.
