This thread is for people to post questions about the council voting currently in progress, the idea being to keep the actual nomination posts free of clutter (so to speak) to make it easier on those doing the count at the end of the voting period,

Pureland Posts

Before I vote, is there a list I can obtain with members of the Pureland rite, with their information (position, title, rank or what have you, and membership time and the like...)?

Is the length of time of membership, rank etc really a reflection of an individuals ability to perform the duties? The members here of 'rank' have the details you seek in there sig generally

Barak Obama is a relative noob to the world of politics, he's just been elected president -

You have a week basically to find this out simply by looking on the site at forum posts, another place to look is the pureland rite specific section of the forum

No. It does not Kana, but it is useful information. And I know this is going to offend a lot of people, but the truth of the matter is, I am not going to vote for a 15 year old to hold office. Nor would I vote a 25 year old. Not that they couldn't do it, they simply will not receive my vote. And no, Barrack Obama is not new to politics or even close. He is simply new to the U.S. government.

But thank you for all your... help.

only over 18's can stand, this has been discussed, I also cannot give a list, and neither should anyone, simply because in a fully democratic vote, it could be deemed as 'manipulation' or 'unfair' if i were to give a list and accidentally forget to mention someone.

For the record, many of the 'younger' Knights and Masters are more than capable to do this job, im some cases, probably more qualified than us older members. But its your choice and no ones place to influence you - of course, if its all a problem (ie the choice or lack there of) you could simply choose not to vote at all, this too is your choice.

as I dont want this to turn into some kind of thread stealing 'debate' I will create a thread for questions on the votes and move yours and my posts to this section, just to keep the actually ballet papers clean so to speak ;)

NOMINATIONS FOR PERMANENT COUNCIL Posts

Great a bunch more 2 month Jedi running the show, just what this place needs. And how does one get Master in such a short time? Just out of curiousity, I wouldn't want it, since it seems anyone and everyone can get it, I'm just curious of the amount of training it takes to get Master in this joint. The most popular Jedi church on the net, woohoo. Off a cliff, thats where this is going.

It's often true though bitterly ironic the feeling of \"I would not want to be a member of any club that would accept me\".

I agree that 2 month Mastery is not right. As far as my knowledge goes there are none. If there are please tell us who they are.
However, in regards to Master Caedus (Glenn) he is a long standing member and Master for many years.

But, to answer your question, DK , the rank system was just redone by Br. John and the cardinals not a few months ago as you well know.

It takes an apprentice about 2-3 months (I've observed) to finish the classes to become an apprentice. Then I believe a 6 month minimum along with competency with your Master to attain Knight. After that it is up the Masters and another set of Trials before Mastery is attained/earned. At least that is how it was for me and that is how I train.

I encourage you questions, however, I would ask that we keep the comments in this forum to the election and the candidates. If you wish to speak more of this or of any other topic besides the election or the candidates thereof, then please make a different thread.

Again I believe this is a conversation for a different column as none of those who are to be on the interim council are 2 month masters.

APPRENTICE'S FORUM NOMINATIONS FOR COUNCIL Posts

Caedus wrote:

Just for clarification, the nominee for the council seat as Representative for the Apprentices must be an apprentice, that way there is no bias and the apprentices are represented by one of their own. I understand this seat may change more often as apprentices become Knights, so that bridge must be crossed as it happens.

Must this be an Apprentice, or Initiate? Would then there be a place for Initiates?

Angelus wrote:

The apprentices and iniates should be represented by and apprentice. I'm not trying to get myself nominated, but a responsible apprentice who's been here for a few months should represent the apprentices. As for initiates, I don't know if they need to be represented. I mean...i've seen several month-old initates running around trying to get on this \"council\" that hasn't even been created yet, and most if not all of those haven't even completed the basic training courses. But then again, they do need a representitive. I propose that there be some group of apprentices and initiates led by...the woman incharge of the youth. Maybe she could represent us, but we could form a younger council so that we can decide what we want her to relate to the council, as our representative?

I hope you are not saying that someone whom is not an apprentice is not worthy of a voice here.

I mean...i've seen several month-old initates running around trying to get on this \"council\" that hasn't even been created yet, and most if not all of those haven't even completed the basic training courses.

Is this an attack? an insinuation that I wish to be on the council? I really dont know any other Initiates here that have been on for months and have not finished the basic lectures like me, but then I am not in a rush.

Sorry, but it seems to be aimed for me for some reason and all I wanted was a clarification for Initiates, as I am choosing to stay an Initiate for the time being, for various reasons which I do not need to explain here.

I would ask for a list of Apprentices, as I do not know whom they are off-hand, this way I can choose from experience whom I wish to speak for me.

Kana Seiko Haruki wrote:

So more confusion, the impression I got was that ALL council members were to be f a minimum rank of knight - this was never a snub to initiates/apprentices and thus my nomination was for someone who had very recently been an apprentice. My thoughts on this were based on the following

Caedus wrote:

Now is the time for all members to post their nominations for who they think should sit on the permanent council. The nominee must be a Knight or above and in good stnding within the council.

All members, Masters, Knights, Initiates, Apprentices, and the tea lady are equally values here.

If indeed tghe nominee may be an initiate themselves (not a good plan in my mind due tot he simple fact that many initiates come and go in a short space of time and thus have yet to show a real commitment to the temple - sorry, just my take on it)

I do however feel one stipulation for nominee's ought to remain - that is the over 18's only.

So if my nomination is unsuitable as a fresh knight - then deem my vote invalid

Once again we have a separate thread for posting of questions regarding votes for the simple reason to stop 'the ballet boxes' being filled with candy wrappers so to speak, i hope you all understand the reasons for needing to keep the nominations threads clear of unnecessary 'stuff'

Please post all questions in the relevant thread in general section 'Questions regarding voting'

Again, these posts will; be copied to this section sometime later today

May I also add from a personal view, personal attacks in this situation only give reasons for others not to nominate whoever - negative self advertising if you like.

Thank You & MTFBWY - A

OK, let me clarify some questions.
1. The apprentice nominee must be an apprentice that way there is no bias and the appretentices have a voice.
2. The initiates are represented in the interim council by War Beauty so they may have a voice in the council for now. We still have to decide how the initiates will be represented in the permanent council. Whethter they have their own representative or if the apprentice rep will speak for them we have not decided yet.
