Hi everyone!
I am conducting a survey about the perception of an action by the human beings and it would help me a lot if you could help me out by accepting to do a little experiment.
The idea is to focus on a simple action : let's say moving your right index so everyone is doing the same. What I would like to know is what is the very first thing that You are able to perceive when you decide to move your index even before than your index moves.
I would recommend you to Take a few days and to do it several times in a quiet place until you are absolutely sure you cannot go even further back in the chain of perceptions that lead to you moving your finger.
I know I posted this in an open discussion but please do not post your answers here as they would influence the others. Just pm me with your sexe
Lots of thanks to you guys !

What does age or gender have to do with this "ability" to perceive finger movement before you move it, and why do you need either?

Remove age. This risks exposing minors

Kit!!! What part of "your right index" didn't you understand ? LOL
I am sorry if what I ask for isn't clear enough but I don't really know how to explain it better. I don't want to give to much detail, to not influence the results.
@Arisaig : About gender and age I am not sure, that's partly what the survey is supposed to tell me.
I don't want to expose minors so maybe if you are a minor, don't answer the survey?

Or make it into big-ish age groups perhaps; <30, 30-50, 50-70, >70

I am happy to discuss study design and research ethics with you in a private message conversation or over Skype Flojade, if you would like your survey to conform to best practice and still get you some useful data. This thread, is in my view, not "it". But I can see where it's heart might be in the right place.
