It's ignorance, yet knowledge, not the other way around was created by Tellahane
I know the thread is locked, it's not my intent to continue that conversation here.
What I do want to discuss and point out is bringing to light an error in the behavior at this temple, that can be applied to any situation, current or past, that I hope others will recognize and seek to learn and grow from.
This most recent situation brought a lot of that to light.
Ignorance, yet knowledge.
When I interpret this line of the Jedi code its no secret that I interpret it as every morning you wake up, you are ignorant of something. You are ignorant of many things in the world. Each day through-out the day we seek to reduce that ignorance by gaining knowledge. So that at the end of the day we are more knowledgeable then earlier. On the next day we don't start over we just start at a new spot and seek to push a little further.
I'm going to add to that interpretation further in saying that seeking knowledge is seeking of as close to what can be considered facts as possible. That some knowledge shouldn't be shared or continued if your ignorant of whether its true or not, or shared out of context. This leads to rumors...this leads to exaggerations...this leads to many worse things.

In this last week a whole lot of this happened. A whole lot of rumors spread, a whole lot of misconceptions, a whole lot of fear of things that didn't actually happen. A lot of people did it here. There were several times I asked for proof that something had happened in the last week or that someone said something in the last week and I got PM's of such proof. When I actually investigated the content of the PM's I found out in a lot of cases they weren't true, or only partially true. That things were being told and reported and repeated that were either wrong because they heard someone else say it, wrong because they took it out of context, wrong because it was exaggerated beyond belief, or wrong simply because they skimmed what they read too fast, or heard something from someone else and just took it a step further.
A considerable amount of judgement has been passed around in the last week on a lot of information that is not true information. Especially for the people who weren't around, who weren't apart. It bothers me most that so much judgement was also passed on such limited and in some cases false information. That so much fear went around on a lot of that same information.
I urge all of you here, before passing judgement on any person or any situation, if you are not directly knowledgeable of it, reserve your judgement until you are. Before you post, make sure that what you know is actual fact, and not what you heard from someone else who heard from their brother, who heard from their cousin who heard from their friend who heard from someone they saw talking at the local basking robbins ice cream store who overheard it from a 2nd cousin twice removed former room mate. I've seen too many posts already, that started as "I don't know any of the facts so I'm reserving judgement" GREAT that converted to "So and so just told me a bunch of stuff so now I'm mortified", in fact checking some of that what so and so has said was wrong, and now someone is mortified as a result of it.
Stop the rumors, stop the exaggerations, get the facts.
*I'm not saying that ALL things said were exaggerations or false, I am saying there were plenty of things that went around that ARE false.
We are better than this, more important we can strive to improve to be better then this.
Do not spread ignorance, find knowledge, know the facts, get the context, investigate yourself, think before you post, double check that what you are writing is not an exaggeration of what you found or we're told, please in any situation going forward.
Thank You for Reading.

Everything I've stated about the subject was from a direct observation from her time spent here in the forums as well as chat, no exaggerations, unless they were on her part...
If that's the case, it should a lesson not to brag about events that never occured in the first place. She's a prime reason as to why bringing back the old chat would be a bad idea...
Your post is based upon sheer speculatin and is essentially calling in each of the members preyed upon liars...
Is this how we debate ideas and not people?

You are absolutely correct in your belief that we should avoid spreading rumors and try to only stick to the facts. There were instances here where some facts were misrepresented over the past few weeks, for sure. Rumors were started and tempers flared at times. We need to work on that.
We also need to keep in mind that some facts will not be available for all to see, and people remember the past differently. Sometimes we will remain ignorant about some things, no matter how hard we look for knowledge. In those cases, it is best to keep our opinions to ourselves until more light is shed. We need to trust that those with all of the information are taking our opinions to heart and adding them to the information they have to make a fair decision that represents us all. It isn't always easy.
That being said, many recent conversations were had in an effort to create more transparency within the Temple and allow for the general membership to participate in the process. This is an ongoing goal of the leadership here. The alternative would be executive actions taking place without any input from members or any reason being provided by the Council. This is what we are trying to avoid, and our Councillors agree. We're trying something different than the way things have been done previously, and there will be missteps along the way. Just know that leadership here has the best intentions and are actively discussing ways to handle these types of situations with new, clear policies that we can all understand and be aware of.
You can always reach out to Security Officers (myself and JLSpinner) or any Knights acting as Advisers to the Council and we will pass your thoughts along to Councillors or handle your issue directly if it is within our power according to our assigned duties.
Thank you for thinking of our Doctrine and the well-being of our Temple, Tellahane. We don't always agree, but your contributions are valid and always worth consideration.

Tellahane,
Thank you this should serve as a solid reminder and perhaps a lesson to all of us while we are considering such topics and in future situations that are similar. I only made an opinion based off the 55 page journal that was open to me, even in that given the severity of the topic I had need to look and try to understand the situation as it sat. It is that perhaps I should not even have voiced an opinion, however, I did. I am looking at myself to be better in this aspect; to know when, why and where to look and more important when I should speak.
Much respect!
Tim
