Good timezone everyone,
In a few short weeks I'll be going up to the California Gathering. I'll be having a talkon disability and the Jedi. I would like some assistance in finding characters in the fiction that have disabilities and also are Jedi or other admirable individuals within the universe. Particularly I'd like to have people who perhaps used their disability as part of their ability, or for whom disability presented no barrier.
Further if you are an individual who has a disability, like myself and you'd like to share your story or you'd like to share something that you've learned I'd like to share that as well. What are some lessons that you've learned?

Well as for Jedi if we wish to consider a disability being age causing a need for a cane and careful or hindered movement there is Jedi Master Tera Sinube ( http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Tera_Sinube/Legends)
Jedi Master Rahm Kota over comes blindness, depression, and alcoholism ( http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Rahm_Kota )
Luke Skywalker is fit with a prosthetic hand as was his father ( well Anakin had a bit more than one prosthetic hand ) (Which btw Luke vs Anakin could be used as a story on the ways you can let life's hardships impact you)
Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrus also overcomes blindness ( http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kanan_Jarrus )
Outside the Starwars universe, my favorite heroes that overcome disabilities are
Oracle: Formerly Batgirl who is paralyzed by the Joker ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbara_Gordon )
Professor X: Who was paralyzed at a young age but is one of the most powerful mutants to ever live ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professor_X )
Cable: A time traveling warrior who is missing an eye and an arm which are replaced by cybernetics ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cable_(comics) )
Dr. Strange: A surgeon who lost full use of his hands after a car wreck. He is now Sorcerer Supreme ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Strange)
Hope that list helps out. If I can do more let me know.

Also Jedi Grandmaster Yoda. The cane he uses gives off a medicine that soothes his aching body. He's essentially riddled with crippling arthritis (hense not being able to move fast).
But yeah, all the examples Hatter gave are excellent!

There is also Chirrut Imwe who is a blind Guardian of the Whills ( http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Chirrut_%C3%8Emwe )
There are the Miraluka who are a race of human like aliens that are born blind and see with the Force ( http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Miraluka )
There is the Jedi Knight Tenel Ka Djo who lost an arm due to a badly made light saber ( http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Tenel_Ka_Djo )
This is everyone I could find. However, there are many shorter characters or characters with physical limitations that could be considered a disability depending on how you wish to define the term.
If I can be any more help let me know
