I don't interact enough with you guys as much as I used to, and I apologize for that. I really should.

So I suppose I'll utilize this as a way to make up at least a little bit for it.

if you're bored and curious enough to ask a question to get to know me any better, feel free.

Would you prefer something from my journal or beyond it?

I'll keep it strait and simple then.

The Tao Te Ching had probably the largest impact on me. The mind loves patterns, and the Tao Te Ching has shown me patterns in things I experience both theoretically and practically that help my thoughts about separate things fit together surprisingly well while also drawing out further layers of understanding about those experiences that nothing else has. Very difficult images are better able to come together and form when put through the process of perception that the Tao Te Ching provides. It's just a matter of understanding the language and philosophical syntax that it uses, to know how that process works.

If you could trade lives with one person for an entire day who would it be and why?

I wouldn't. I'm fine with mine. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't matter if I chose someone rich and powerful, it would become a nightmare being in shoes that I wouldn't understand as well as my own. It wouldn't matter if I choose someone poor or more unfortunate; my relative fortune wouldn't make their lives any better either. If I had to trade though, it would be simply for the experience of understanding (or remembering) just how true I think it is that the grass is never greener anywhere. I probably wouldn't need to choose anybody in particular for that, and in any case the lesson would probably be all the more difficult if I did. Perhaps I wouldn't pick that person but would allow them to pick me if they so chose.
