If you could live anywhere in the world for a year - outside of the UK, the US, and Canada - where would it be, why, and what would you do while you were there?

hmmmm... well knowing me it has to be somewhere nice and cold. Can't risk my blood thawing out. ;P
So, barring those three... would probably go with Southern Ireland (loophole, Southern Ireland is part of the British Isles, not the UK. hehehehehehehehe).
I love rain, and I heard it rains plenty there, and is generally quite cold. So it sounds perfect. 
EDIT: What will I do there? dunno. probably just forage for nuts and berries to survive.
Honestly, after my college course I can be a barkeep, so Ireland being Ireland I should be able to find a job as such. ;P
