First Impressions

'First impressions are the most important'... apparently.

I find that you can't possibly sum a person up in a first meeting or a first post.

I thought it might be interesting to see what our first impressions of each other were, and why they were wrong (or right).

Give your first impression of the poster before you, and if your impressions have changed (and why).

No-one is before me so as I know he won't mind a bit (nor will be offended by anything I say!), I'll start by saying my first impressions of Alexandre were that he was a bit of a know it all and wrote way too much in posts. As it turns out I was mostly right haha (in a good way ).

I spend a fair amount of time going through people's journals trying to work out the bits "between the lines"

Plus you all look the same to me

I think my first interation with you was some argument, from memory AT was there too? So I can't say I was warm from the get go.

My first impression of you was that you sort of exploded on the scene. Now I take comfort in the fact that I can expect a reply from you even if I don't agree

My first impression of you, Ros, was "professor type who knows way more than me and will probably make me look like a fool at some point." I think I was right about the education, but you've never pointed out my foolery. I've done that myself. :blink:

First impression of Senan "oh, this guy got Knighted recently, good for him, lol".

Then I thought, after seeing a bit more of your writing "what a courageous soul, we need more people like him who share their trials". Brave and bold Senan. That's how I see ya, lol.

I am not sure we've had the chance to interact before. So, I took the opportunity to read your IP thread's intro post. My first impression was that you are a very determined and thorough Jedi. You have had some hard times, but I think that has given you strength rather than made you weaker. I really admire that... as, I'm not sure I could say the same about myself.

Also, purple is a fantastic color.

Connor, you struck me as grounded and intelligent. As I've come to know you I've come to appreciate your dedication to what you feel is right. The more I think about it the more your avatar really suits you!

I still remember the first time we chatted. You got me a link for antlers for carving and gave me some tips for how to go about said carving. ;P So my first impression of you was that you were very crafty and creative.

I also saw that you were quite active with the community (and still are), heading the IP team and having a few apprentices of your own. As a result, I came to the conclusion that you were very outgoing and selfless.

My apprentice, from the first interaction in chat you reminded me of myself. From how you described yourself as a broken man, to the black hood you used in your avatar, it was very much like looking in a mirror when I first arrived five years ago. The changes I've noticed in you since then are pretty remarkable...

You struck me as highly intelligent, guarded yet not afraid to express yourself, and were fighting your own demons only you did a much better job than myself in that regard. The key difference is that your a far better Jedi than I, and your only just starting along your path...

I consider myself quite lucky to be a part of it...
