In America today we celebrate 4th of July in remembrance of the day we declared our independence from the known world at the time. Where we became a country and so many more things. Today, we eat, fellowship one with another, sleep and other things. As, I have been working and walking throughout the day people pass me by and greet me with, "Happy 4th of July..." I thank them and return the gesture. As I begun to think of history books and Civics in High School I think about a lot about the war fought, George Washington and so on. I thought to myself, "Somebody paved the way for you..."

I don't want to be a person who looks at this holiday or any other significant holiday and think to myself, "hmm..well, just another day..." And I am guilty of doing that times especially when I was a little younger it didn't matter much to me. I, have a been a Jedi since 2011 and since then I have opened my mind to deep things. I think to myself, "Somebody paved the way for you..."

I close my eyes and picture my great grandfather fighting to make our country free and so many other men that may or may not have came back. I don't know enough of my family history to tell you anything but, if he did I would have been honored to know my great grandfather fought for our independence.

What also comes to mind is my freedoms as a Jedi in America. In some parts of the world you couldn't be a Jedi without being imprisoned, killed or criticized for it. Those that believed this would be hiding in caves, certain homes and secret places so we could huddle around each other and share our beliefs. Now, I understand that is extreme case but, it's true. Never the less someone had to pay the price and paved the way for me to have that freedom.

"Freedom is not free" is a slogan I've seen and often it's given a negative meaning behind it. However, if you really look at it for what it is...It really isn't free. Freedom has a price tag on it and it's a high price tag. As said before great sacrifice was given in order for us to have freedom...again I say somebody paved the way for me.

I, don't know how Br. John founded TOTJO I can tell you certain details however, I cannot tell you the struggles he went through and not him alone to get TOTJO online, the cost of having it, hundreds of hours spent, times I am sure it seemed like it would never happen, the scoffs of people... Somebody paved the way for me.

I don't want to take for granted what someone did for me and I certainly don't want to forget all the good things TOTJO has done for me. I hope all Jedi here will remember this and will remember...

Somebody paved the way for me.
