Whilst the sentiment behind this thread is a good one, something like 50 people have been affected in a single area of a single city of over 8 million people... this is not a UK-wide situation.
These "check in" things seem to be a US idea, based on a couple of other US friends doing them overnight for this attack. From here in the UK it seems almost entirely pointless.
How about just saying your thoughts are with us rather than trying to take a rollcall? If I was involved I'd have better things to do than post about it, and if 99 out of 100 UK Jedi respond are we phoning the police about the missing one?
Just my thoughts.

I was actually planning to post something similar to this last night - But seen Ros beat me to it.
Coz....you know....Big surprise.... Some of us are friends to some Jedi in London and we do worry. If a friend came into this thread and said "Hey, yea....im ok but lost someone in the attack" or "Im alive but got injuried" or.......whatever. Id offer whatever support I could to said friend.
Sometimes....It's ok to just take sentiment for what it is - It may not be the same old "Oh my hearts and prayers are out to London!!" But it means the same thing.
Which is more important in my opinion.

It probably seems like a US thing, because people in the UK would just call or drive down there, etc. Particularly when the internet and forums is the primary form of communication between them?
God forbid the international community would want to check up on their friends after a disaster....

Leave it to the members of the TOTJO to take a check in thread created in times of stress, and turn it into a mini rant...

Because the US is the only place "overseas" from places which have problems, makes sense... do you see corresponding requests for every US member to check in whenever something happens in the states? Because this is as daft as that. If you're relying on this medium to know if your friends are alive or not, you're doing friendship wrong.
Check in with your friends. Message them. Recognise unless they were in one tiny part of one very populous country they're probably fine, and will probably be around exactly the same as they always are if you give them time. A blank request anyone within a thousand miles of a small scale attack let you know they're unaffected is an empty gesture, far emptier than wishing a country which just got attacked by terrorists well.
Note two UK Jedi so far have "checked in", one to say this seems daft.
