What is the stance on killing in Jediism?
At first I was sure all Jedi's would be against killing in all forms, but then I thought of situations (e.g. defence of yourself or others) in which it may be warranted. And also, what is the stance of abortion? According to the doctrine: "A Jedi knows they must make the right choice, take the right side and that the weak they have sworn to defend often stand alone.", surely that means to defend the innocent lifes of the unborn. I personally believe abortion to be wrong and define it as 'murder'.
However, I would like to hear your opinions on this topic.

I'm a homicidal, cold-blooded killer... I once took the lives of many ants when I stepped on their ant-hill walking to a friend's house. I've performed pre-meditated genocide on arachnids who made their home under my bed and against roaches who nested under my cabinets. I've performed intentional fly-slaughter with a fly-swatter both in mid-flight and during landing.
I would say, if Jediism had some kind of absolute stance on killing, I would be considered a Sith that Palpatine would be proud of, even today.

If you're killing insects than your not homicidal.
I don't think Sheev would be that impressed by that...

I am a homicidal maniak too, i eat meat and i enjoy it ,although i only eat it for 2 times a week for enviromental reasons , i like the taste of animal after its been on the bbq and ...i feed cats outside so they kill and slaughter the mice and rats in my garden , One might say i am quiet violent ...
Off course all life is sacred , but only untill we are hungry enough or threatenend enough , its a very subjective question that will give you a lot of answers

I think what you have noticed is that most are taking a very indirect approach to answering your question. As with many things here at the temple, you'll find that there aren't right or wrong answers, but certain situations that dictate a particular response. All life is sacred, but not in an absolute sense. Circumstances may arise that dictate one position or another. But those positions aren't really absolute, either. Just tools along the way....

I'll be more direct for our new friend here.
There is no standard, stance or view on Jedi, Jediism, Realism or any other Jedi-insert unicorn colors here.
Ones moral belief on "Killing" is determined by each individual themselves.
As for me. I believe that "Killing" or ending one life in favor of another is just the harmonious part of nature. Things live and things die in order to keep a symbiotic relationship with life itself. If my life is threatened I will defend myself, and if "Killing" becomes the result of that defense, then it is as would be said in fiction "The will of the Force" or as I would say "Might is Right." Might meaning I had the favor in the outcome be it by skill, luck, or destiny.
However
As a Jedi that means I am tasked with the pursuit of Knowledge to ensure I respond to these situations and encounters with said skill sets for the most favorable outcome (no killing)
That means I train in Public Speech and Debate so that my words can be an efficient sheild
That means I train in Self Defense to better control my physical actions
That means I train in Meditation and Self Discipline so that I can control my emotions and enter any scenario with an open, clear and unbiased mind frame.
The above remains true for any other "Killing" situation such as Death Row with prisoners (Which I do approve of) or in Abortion (which I also approve of)
As a Jedi it is not about what everyone else thinks and believes. It is how you apply yourself in the situations given to you.
