And where will you find all the Americans who are willing to do very basic, unskilled work for minimal wage? .

I won't. I'll have to pay $20/hr for highly skilled American labourers because nobody will competently do the work for minimum wage once the slaves are gone. oops I mean illegal immigrants.

Can you imagine all our businesses will soon get our taxes cut from 35% to 15%? Gas prices will come down even more. Companies will hire Americans after the pool of illegals dries up. Crime should theoretically go down after deporting all the illegal criminals. TPP is gone. Huge companies will move production facilities back to the US. Obamacare is going away. Yes!

I know the media has been really unfair and reporting a bunch of lies. It's sad, really.

Weren't you the guy who marched on Standing Rock a few months ago while preaching how "un jedi" the rest of us were for not having done so? He approved the pipeline that's scheduled to go right through Standing Rock, are you going to go back and tell all those people that he's awesome? Please make sure you document the whole thing, and post it here when you do...

There can only be an economic boom if the average American has more money to spend and if exports soar.

The first will only happen if business owners actually pass on their savings to the employees by increasing their salaries. This will unlikely happen - plus pushing Americans into the low-paying jobs that illegal immigrants had previously been doing, people are likely to earn less on average than more.

The second will only happen if trade barriers are torn down rather than built up. Trump is doing the opposite. If American products become more expensive abroad, they don't sell. Especially if production is actually moved back to America (which I personally believe is a great thing from a social point of view), making everything more expensive to produce.

Exactly my point. How are business owners going to pay for that? I'll give you the answer: they aren't because they simply can't.

My neighbor is the head of the police drug task force. He said there are truckloads of methamphetamine coming up from mexico. It's all they can do to round it up and take them to jail but then for every one they arrest, 10 more pop up to take their places. The federal crackdowns at the borders and local+federal cooperation will probably help to curtail a lot of that. I hope it works. It;s what the police want.

Yeah I still stand with the native americans and their rights to keep the pipeline companies from ripping up their graves. It can be rerouted, no doubt. If it goes through their burial grounds I'll bitch and protest.

Don't have much of a choice right now :-) but keeping a watchful eye won't hurt.

I can understand that - but that can't easily be projected for all crime committed in the US. Again: on average, illegal immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than legal residents. The number of illegal immigrants working in drug trafficking is very lowed compared to the total number of illegals living in the US. And agreed: every measure should be taken to curb drug trafficking.

You're right. It's a small minority but wow what a big impact they are having. I would appreciate it if trump framed this to focus on "drug lords" and "human traffickers" instead of "poor brown people". I don't know why the media keeps talking about mexicans and lumping them under this program. It's kinda weird.
