A thought on the President. was created by
I work with older people a lot given my line of work.
I found one thing a bit off about this presidency and that was in regards to age.
Hillarys health showed part of this, but in regards to 60- almost 70 year olds, well, those gears are not turning like they were even a decade earlier. Also ones overall health in regards to stress, etc, is much more a problem.
Is this really the best age for a world leader?
I know the correlation between age and experience, and that there is a requirement for a certain age just to run for president, but I also think there should be a cut off of a certain age as well.
Its crossed my mind in other elections as well, but lets look at Obama.
55, at the end of an eight year run.
Trump 70, at the beginning of his.
Again, if you have not worked in healthcare in any capacity, then this may mean nothing, however having seen 50-60-70 year olds facing the compromises and defeats of middle-old age, I was wondering if any of you have had similar thoughts.
I know this isnt strictly political, but I have been thinking of it a lot this run, especially with regards to Hillarys bouts with health problems both mental and physical.
Then there is the sheer generational gap between Trump and the people who are just voting for the first time.
I know that may not seem important, but it is on some levels, as their is a disconnect for younger people and someone born in 1946, and someone who is just getting to vote born in 1998.
They did not even come up in the same world in so many ways.

Speaking as a younger voter (25) I can say that I believe that there's a huge generation gap. I see it not only in Trump but in the 70+ year old receptionist at the bank I work at and a few of my grandparents. We grew up very, very differently so we think very, very differently.
This of course is a broad generalization and isn't always the case. I know young people who voted for Trump and older people who voted for Hillary.
In terms of health concerns due to age I don't know about putting a maximum age on Presidency, but perhaps make them pass some physical and mental health tests.

I would love to have experienced Ron Paul as a president, but he's definitely old.
