Fair enough. I've seen so much bickering lately maybe I don't know people are capable of jokes on this forum anymore. :P

As for an example, I've given mine. Just tired of seeing threads derail.

Oh you're no fun Kit :cheer:

My point was that by just saying "can we stop derailing and get back on topic" - It's just another post NOT on topic

It doesn't bother me. I'm not sure how the internet works, I assume someone "cleans out the tubes" or something to stop it getting clogged up with our off topic drivel.

If 4Chan have not broken the internet yet, a few tangential jests and jibes here won't do it :silly:

I'm trying to think of a clever way to say a sense of humour is a strength of sorts. I can't find anything in the doctrine.

Ah well.

Oi, I haven't read the whole thread but I'm applying to the OP.

What does it mean to be weak? All I can think of is the inability to accomplish your goals. Then what about being a Jedi makes someone less capable of accomplishing goals? If Jediism changes what your goals are, that's not any kind of failure. If something you have to do goes against the tenets of Jediism, go ahead and do it. Unless, of course, it has to do with harming yourself or others -- though if WWII taught us anything, it's that sometimes those things can't be avoided. We do what is necessary to accomplish that which is necessary. If you're not willing to do that, what part of it is really necessary? Crowley said "Do what thou wilt", and no matter what code you follow or what laws you abide by, ultimately you're going to do something if you're really intent on it regardless of those codes, rules, and laws. The only one judging you for that is yourself, so long as you're not breaking any serious laws or doing something terrible (whatever that might mean). As far as I know, the Force doesn't care. I don't think the Force makes any distinction between light and dark, good and evil, etc.

So if you've got to get angry or passionate to accomplish something, I think it'd be pretty dumb to avoid doing so just because of an arbitrary rule that you've imposed on yourself by accepting some title. You ultimately know what's best for you if you've been mindful of your own situations, anyone who tells you that you've got to impose limits on yourself can't possibly know you better than you do. So don't get too caught up trying to be a Jedi to the point that you can't function as necessary. Sometimes when you've got to do something those kinds of ideals aren't going to help you.

Being a Jedi won't make you weak. You're the only one who can do that, and you're the only one who can prevent it. Depending on your situation, adhering to the tenets of Jediism might help. When it helps, use it. But if it's preventing you from doing what you must do, something that's necessary, don't use it at that moment.

Now, that doesn't mean you should just go around committing evils or whatever whenever you want. Crowley said "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will."

That's my $0.02.
