Our birthdays may be just dates on a calendar, or just another day days ... there is an element of truth in that. First of all, our birthdays aren't about "us". It isn't an occasion to be the star for the day or harvest a bunch of presents. Our birthdays are more a celebration for the ones who know and love us than for ourselves.

Just talking conversationally....

I am thanked constantly, and reminded by you all all the time how much I help...

Sometimes I think you all are silly, it part of who am, what I do... No thanks necessary....

Then that other side of me, who also profusely "thanks folks", because I am truely thankful for the help, says, "that's how you'd be, don't be a jerk, say "you are welcome, or no problem/worries, and move on"....

Lol.....

Remember, it has not been such a very long time since the average life-span of a man was something that by today's standards we would consider ridiculously short -- 42 years. And yes, I'm talking about the 20th century here ... not the Middle Ages.

That article was interesting, Jestor, but it really doesn't counter the point I was making very well. If it weren't getting late, I'd even twist it about as to support what I was saying ... You know, I'm just a prat like that !
