The dark side

We have both the light (creative) and the dark (destructive) side to the Force. I've been contemplating lately how the paranormal fits into the Force and our philosophies. If matter and energy are dependent on one another, then it would stand to reason that once we pass over, that portion of the Force that constitutes our existence could manifest itself here in a residual fashion. I'm still thinking on how traditional hauntings function as a part of the Force.

In a similar manner, the existence of dark entities, or demons comes to mind. Traditionally, these dark entities feed on living energies and "souls" in order to project their presence in our plane of existence. Feeding on the energies of the living could possibly occur by our understanding of things. One idea that I'm also still working on is, if these dark entities or demons are out there, should we like our other religious counterparts have some folks that specialize in exorcisms and repelling these forces? The Knight's Code says that we should shield those that are weaker from such things. If a person came to us pleading for help with such an entity, how could we help? I look forward to the debate that follows. It should help us grow.

we do already have members that study such things....our members come from many different backgrounds, some have wiccan skills and knowledge to draw from, some have skills and knowledge from a specific religion, some have skills and knowledge from an academic/scientific perspective...

another thing to consider...quantum theory/multiverse....what if some "hauntings" are really just breaches in time/space where beings from a parallel dimension/universe temporarily become partially visible or partially cross over....

Helping people with 'entities' depends on whether or not you believe in them, or if perhaps you believe in them as being created in the mind (which is my own personal opinion). Sometimes you shouldn't shield someone from something difficult, but help them with how to get through it.

Is the Force light or dark? Does it distinct from a right note or wrong note played? Nope

Personally, I think that light and dark aren't merely moods set by us. Creation and destruction are both physical realities that go well beyond our moods. I see your point that right or wrong, in your musical example, are rule systems that we impose. The light and dark essences of the Force are far more than an individual state of mind to me, but this is a topic for another discussion.

I agree that your beliefs would create a set of filters for such an event. Say, two people witness the same event. One may view it as a ghost or haunting while the other may see the same event as something else. My point, thought, is that regardless of the personal filters, the event still occurred.

Seconding on what Carlos mentioned. What is dark and what us light by you're definition? Ah! There you see...If I been born in Nazi Germany at the time of Hitler's peak of power and influence I could say Hitler is a god! and say Hitler's campaign is good or if you will light! Now, I am al American and I have read the history books we have, biography's, ect. And I have determined in my opinion that it was evil. Now, you see I think it's the Action behind the motive not always the person. I think, you can find "good" in all people including Hitler now, don't throw rocks at me!!

Second, I think The Force in our own small perception has a "creation" side and a "destructive" side? I don't really perceive it this way anymore being the fact destruction ex: a tsunami destroying a small island village is in fact creating. My view The Force, continues over and over recreating things in the way it sees it should be. Now, is that still horrible yes. That tree destroyed will have new purpose, that young child that lost its parent in the tsunami will find a new purpose, the deceased parent on to The Force they return until they're ready to be used again. I could bring up many many examples but, The Force is always in motion never ceasing always in motion renewing each day an the previous perishing and returning to be with The Force to be born again...into something new and with purpose.

Third, Demons and Angels and things of that nature. I agree some with Edan and I think some has to do with mental others to do with the 4th dimensional door opening to you third eye. I have over the course of two, three years studied the crown chakra or, the pineal gland and find it to be very fascinating. I have had many outta body experiences and visions as such. I do believe there is a temporary world we see in front of us but all around us I also believe there is a Spiritual realm a 4th dimensional world full of "Angels, Demons" if that is what you call them. I do believe they affect us as well either in a positive or negative manner. OK...I've talked enough...

Destructive forces are just a necessary part of creative forces. Destruction is needed in order to create. So to, matter and energy are actually not two separate things but different forms of the same thing. None of these things are evil or benevolent or just or good. Energy is just energy, neither good nor bad, just as nothing is pure good or pure evil. It is in what we do with the energy that makes it polarized in one way or another and even that is a subjective perception. What I perceive as bad is perceived as good by others. In the end we all have the power to balance those negative forces in our lives with the positive. We don't need some "super-guru" or an "exorcist" to protect us. We are each responsible for ourselves and we each have the ability to take any energy directed at us and reshape it into anything we want. We just need to accept and utilize that power.

You can't create without destroying. Creation requires something to change from what it once was, many times beyond recognition of the original pieces, if not destroying utterly to consume for the results. So I can't say that I agree with your definition of light and dark

A little while after I moved into this house, I encountered a creature, that for nearly a month, would feed from my fear every night. Going so far as turning my dreams to nightmares so it could inspire that fear to feed from it. I realized that it itself wasn't evil, at least not anymore than any other hunter would be. Now that doesn't mean that I wanted to host it anymore either

I know of one person here who has done exorcisms. There's also been times were it's been helpful just to listen to the person with the issues without offering judgment. Maybe the 'demons' are creatures of the mind, maybe they exist, but sometimes the best thing we can do is just listen. Perhaps these entities are embodiments of human will or intent. I believe that gods were brought into existence and continue from such. It's not a stretch to think that the darker wills of mankind also have born beings from them.

It's up to the individual to play to their strengths when it comes down to deciding how they are going to follow any codes they've sworn to.
