Are you a grey Jedi?
The key is to not be defined by either side.

And he's definitely more likable now. Who wants to be friends with a goody-goody?

Really? Can you introduce me?
I do not mind at all defining myself as Dark. I do not mind being defined, such does not limit me in any way, only perhaps others perceptions of me, but then, that is there limitations regardless of how I align myself.
So, the key, if there is one, as I see it, is more a case of how you want to be defined, and not seeking to avoid such.
Others will judge by your actions regardless, and while sure, you could argue all day that one is not wholly this or that, I do not see this a point proved, more, it only shows that people can have only the view that extremes with complete rigidity is a valid marker on what one considers a light, or dark path.
More interesting for me, is that while most here it seems can only see these two paths in regards to moral and ethical lifestyles, that is not how I see the Dark path. I dont know how the Light goes about it, but as I see it, there is more to it than than that in being on the Dark path at least.
"Oh, I like dogs so im not all Dark."
Well, if that is your sign post for what it entails to be Dark, or not be Dark, fine, but you have defined it regardless.
Only you have done it in a negative fashion.
I suppose I should go kick some puppies now.

Perhaps "defined" was the wrong word to use. Everyone, as you Khaos pointed out, is defined in one way or another. I suppose what I meant was that the key is not to be limited by your definitions, that you're free to act outside them when you feel like it.
