The danger or minority opinion is that it is can be new, "upstart", and less tested. The danger of majoroty opinion is that can be stagnant, unyielding, and less relevant.
Certainly, old or new, minority or majority -- no opinion should be so sacrosact that it cannot be measured and questioned.

I'm not really clear on the relevance of the "minority" label, as typically it's a matter of judges or formal reports where the authors clearly have to take a stand and be counted.
Beyond that, opinions are just that should hold sway only based on their merit of substance.
Courtesy is given, respect is earned....
One can politely defer to another's comments with which you disagree, because courtesy is a hallmark of a civil society, but respect for an argument can only be achieved by an appreciation or admiration of the merits.
