Very addicting. Chaplin played by Robert Downey was a similar light bringing to the characters involved and as a whole. I recommend it as well if u liked the great dictator.

Chaplin's speech near the end of the film is quite impressive and occasionally I watch just that bit on Youtube.

As for old films in general... I love them.. I grew up watching films like Ben Hur, The Ten Commandments, Joan of Arc, Spartacus.... at 6am on a weekend before my parents got up. Occasionally if I see them on TV I still watch them... not so keen on romantic films, I prefer the historical ones.

Then you probably like this one , its re dubbed , but i like the atmosphere it brings , Proteus mentioned it in chat and now its one of my favs , i saw the older version with my Dad when i was little , he was a big fan of these kind of movies , a twinkle in his eyes , i only saw it again later when we watched John Wayne and later Star Trek

... although the film itself is not so very old, the novel on which it is taken dates to 1932. This also carries a pretty startling message with regard to our current post-modern and chemically ameliorated social organisation.
