If we're going to be fair to this recommendation with criticism or praise we need to read the actual report (the article I posted leaves out plenty) which is 44 pages with 432 notes and references. Since I know y'all can't wait to get to it here it is.

Of course we can question the motivation of doctors, but if what they are saying is true then without their support it probably wouldn't be enacted. They have to say something about it sometime.
Did those who created the drug prohibition think it would be any different to alcohol prohibition? What did that lead to? A mass increase in organised crime and lack of knowledge of product quality. Well there is a lack of knowledge about product quality right now and a massive increase in organised crime. The crime just isn't visible because it's Not In My Back Yard (i.e. cartels operating and producing the product in South America and other countries).

I have read a lot of the things posted and I have one thought... causality vs correlation.
To demonstrate what I am talking about, this is a great video, part of a very useful series, that I think might shed some awesome light on it.

I'm adding How to Lie With Statistics - download here https://archive.org/details/HowToLieWithStatistics I'd add this to the Initiates Program if I could.
I've created a new topic on decriminalization of drugs for personal use. This is so we can debate the issue itself instead of a particular article about the issue. It's a matter of Human Rights and Justice. Please see https://www.templeofthejediorder.org/forum/open-discussions/114429-all-nonviolent-drug-use-and-possession-should-be-decriminalized#235662
But please continue to show any faults with the article although that has nothing to do with the actual report.
