I can't ever seem to settle into practicing this path. I read the doctrines and maxims and they (and the other teachings) make total sense. I also am very drawn to this path. I just have two quite terrible things hindering me. Or should say I allow these things to hinder me. These would be lack of discipline, and, for lack of a better way to put it, gullibility.

See, I feel like this path would enable me to better myself. I think this path would help me be happier in general. I just lack the discipline to get down to the study necessary for learning a new path.

Also, when I say gullibility, I mean that I allow myself to be swayed by the thoughts and philosophy around me. I live in the deep south and fundamentalist christianity is the most prevalent religion. I guess weakness is a better way to put it.

I don't know what I'm really trying to say here. But I guess I'll say I'm back. I want to take this seriously. I want to learn this new path for sure. I've been a member here a while, but never really progressed. Here's hoping for progress!

Rather than thinking of yourself as weak and your path as broken... might it be truer to say your path is simply a windy one?

Your path is your path. You are walking it, still.

Be kind to yourself :) If you imagined it going differently, it was your expectations that were out. However it feels, you are doing your best.

Welcome back.

Well put. You are correct. I'm not very kind to myself...

Being a gone and back, gone and back.....etc person I have to say "What's the hurry?" When your here your are here, relax and enjoy, when your not your not, don't fret about it. You're being rough on yourself.

Enjoying the journey is the key to whatever success you envision.

Peace
