I meant to post this here to get others thoughts as well. I posted it in my journal first.
As the time for “The Force Awakens” draws ever closer, I too am growing more excited to see what it brings. It is sure, hopefully, to be a fantastic addition to the series of iconic movies that drew me to learn more about the Force. I am excited to see what it brings. My fiancé and I will even be in costume! However, I do understand that it is only a series of movies.
With the release of this movie more and more attention will be drawn to those of us that truly walk the Jedi path. Some will be fascinated and will want to venture onto the path and start a journey of discovery on their own. Others will try to push us into a confrontation. While I would like to think there would be less of the latter. As Jedi we must be diligent and not only keep our eyes open, but our feelings as well.
If someone approaches you and tries to belittle you or draw you into a confrontation, remember, you are Jedi and should represent yourself as such. Still others will genuinely want to know more and if you are not comfortable answering questions please direct them here, to the Temple where questions can be answered much more easily by letting them read the FAQ.
Another aspect we must be on guard for is an unfortunate one. With all of the shooting lately, not only here in the United States but around the world, we must keep our eyes open. If you see anything out of the ordinary please report it immediately. Don’t hesitate to call attention to something because you might just save a life. Sizeable crowds are an inevitability for a movie release such as this, so the more eyes we have watching the better.
Remember go out and enjoy the movie, but keep your eyes open, and report anything out of the ordinary. Remember, we are Jedi and should represent ourselves as such. Be diligent, be polite, and be kind. Represent yourself, Jediism, and the Temple of the Jedi Order with the respect deserved.
Patience
