What do you fear?

im afraid that ive messed up so much of my life already that i wont be able to catch up to where i should be - or that i wont be able to build a solid foundation because of how long its taken me to begin in a deliberate and sincere way

im afraid that i will fail - that i wont be smart enough or tough enough or disciplined or stubborn enough to be successful as a person - an idea that has quite a few definite things within it, mostly around the themes of emotional maturity, a meaningful and stimulating vocation that provides financial security, and a certain level of familial and social usefulness

im afraid of hurting people, especially people who are close to me or people who are supposed to be able to count on me

im afraid that my lazy will win

im afraid that im not good enough for anyone to love me and respect me once they know me

im afraid that i am just good enough for people to take a chance believing in me but not quite good enough to keep from letting them down

im afraid of not living up to who i could be, and that i will waste my life away on being afraid lol

All sorts of things, but the funny thing about fear is that it's all a matter of timing:

there is only one thing that causes me to experience fear, and it's a strong one, that i have spent years learning to control...claustrophobia...when i was young we were playing hide and seek, i hid inside a pillow case and got stuck...from that day on i could not stand to be in any space tight enough to constrict my shoulders....at one time it was a paralyzing fear, but i continually forced myself to face it until i could control it...to this day if my shoulders are pinned to my body i have to maintain my focus to avoid getting overwhelmed by the anxiety, even then there's a time limit to how long i can remain calm before blowing up and doing everything in my power to destroy whatever is confining me....
