New Idea for a game was created by
I would have wanted a game to focus on various religious beliefs and be educational at the same time. Where it's set in a Elder Scrolls like environment and you're a traveler, meeting various different cultures and religious people some who will mistrust you due to your beliefs and some that you may distrust due to their beliefs, but I would want the game to focus on learning the traditions and putting an end to misunderstandings, as that's more often that not, one of the reasons why there is such infighting, because of misunderstandings.

For example, (these are just other religions and might not be used in the actual game) But if you walk into an area full of Muslims and you play a Druid, some Muslims will mistrust you and you in turn will mistrust them, but you realize that much misunderstanding is due to propaganda being projected from both sides and causing confusion and hatred, much like in real life, where religious leaders will make up something to drive away competing religions

There were other things I would have liked to add, like how you interact with people. For example again these are just faiths I'm using and would probably not be in the actual game, but if you were a Druid or Jedi entering a Muslim town and most of them dislike and distrust you, there will always be a few Muslims that have seen through the deception and know you're not really a bad person and will actually help you in your quest. I think it'd be interesting for this conspiracy game to take place in ancient or medieval settings.

You will also get a chance to learn other religion's rituals and practice them. By doing so, you also understand that a lot of these religions really do have some truth in them. For example, one religion might believe in just one afterlife while another might believe in reincarnation, and by studying them you start to realize that there are afterlives but reincarnation also plays a part in it and that each of those religions to try to help out have a piece of the truth explaining the universe.

That's just the idea behind it. It would involve a whole lot more including conspiracies, trying to stop people from getting hurt, learning more about their rituals and so forth. It's be sort of like an action RPG game, like a cross between The Elder Scrolls and Fallout. It could take place in ancient times but also in modern life. Which would you think would be better?

Lots of the action involves various weapons, i.e. swords and guns but there are certain rituals depending on your faith that you can use to become somewhat invisible trying to chase you, improving your aim, giving you more energy to fight and run, allowing you to see things others can't see, being assisted by good sprits, angels animal totems, and so forth. But there are moments where you can be diplomatic and not always resort to using a sword. The basic goal is to get everyone who is divided and have them unite and realize who the real bad people are. It's all a matter of trying to clear the fog and get a better understanding of things. There are times where opposing clans will burn down rival temples but then you find out it was a person sent to do it in order to get groups riled up and have them fight each other.

You also would have other spiritual journeys to undertake such as mastering astral projection and get to areas others can't get through, mastering certain rituals and/or spells or energy work or psychic powers and telekinesis as well as practices like herbalism, shamanism and alchemy. You would go on spiritual quests to find out certain things about yourself and connect with your spiritual allies. These are just ideas I'd like to see happen and wondered what others thought.

It could be very political as well, as often it's fueled through political motives and it's up to you to stop it and enlighten misunderstood people so we can all unite. I was wondering what you thought of this kind of idea. Please comment.

i think youve got a lot of work on your hands!

video games are an excellent medium for education and artistic expression and i am a big proponent of both

imo even if you use fictitious religions youre going to have to learn quite a lot about the religious ideas of the world, current and historical

imo this is a very enriching pursuit, and one you would not regret, but thats just my opinion

anything that might help to increase understanding and compassion for other people is a good thing, i hope you can make it work!

People are complicated.

Wow, sounds very intriguing.

I was imagining an overall sandbox style game for learning skills and varieties of abilities like in the original form of Star Wars Galaxies which allowed you to pursue over 30 different professions and could get skills from each to have your own unique template. Along with the conversational elements of KOTOR/Fallout that would play a role in determining your quests, missions, events.

Lot of potential, I think of many things like the Anno and Civilization series that have different factions and ideologies as well as many other games that include their own forms of religious and cultural aspects. It's a big idea and would take a lot of time as there are infinite details and ideas to come up with and implement.

A very good idea
And i am a huge fan of the elder scrolls series, and a game with that concept could be a good thing to teach children about diffrent religions and cultures
So that they may in the future understand them.

I'm glad to hear people like the idea! I am thinking of developing it into a simple game. I do like table top rpg games and think I might start small before I move onto something big. I like 2D pixelated games with rpg-like qualities. If anyone remembers Final Fantasy 6 or 4 I thought of making the game sort of like that at first but have it be more open world. And then I could make it have a sort of Fallout/Elder Scrolls like feel. :)

There would be a lot of times where you'll have visions seeing tree spirits, angels, devas, ect. depending on your faith or even spirits from ancestors giving you clues on what to do next and where to find certain things. You'll find that some people who are sent in to start trouble are sent by those in charge and trying to divide and conquer the nations you are on and it's up to you to forge alliances, prove your trust to outsiders ect. There will be many conspiracies you learn of that have been whispered in the general populace and find out that some were actually true. Magic is starting to be suppressed but it is still used by some people in secret The evil group is not only trying to divide and conquer their faiths but also suppress magic, rituals, psychic powers anything related to that and you find out the group that is responsible for this isn't just trying to do this because they disbelieve in magic. They actually do and are actually part of an evil cult that uses magic and that they are trying to divide and conquer and suppress so they will be the only major power in control and they will be the only ones that can use magic, so they can just steam roll anyone who gets in their way.

You try to help people understand what's really going on, going through various quests, even capturing those who were responsible for such acts like burning temples down. Many faiths one can choose as some can be animistic, pantheistic, panetheistic, polytheistic, nontheistic, monotheistic, even duotheistic. You will even get to communicate with various gods from your own faith and other faiths and sometimes will have to prove your worth and trust to the other clan's gods.

I have wondered if it'd be best to use fictional religions or actual religions like Druidry, Jediism, ect.
