Of course we can learn from all things but, another group activity I am in called geocaching may have some good ideas for the Jedi Order.
First of all Geocaching is a worldwide game where people use GPS devices or the GPS on their phones to lead them to hidden containers. In these containers are log books to sign and sometimes trinkets to trade.
I haven't been on this sight long but noticed a thread about a Jedi gathering that did not seem to gain much support mainly because it was in a fixed location others could not reach.
The lesson that can be learned from Geocachers is how to have successful events and be more connected as a community. I am unsure if this already exists but, geocaching has different groups on Facebook for caching in different regions. It is extremely helpful to use these Facebook pages to set up gatherings. It would also be cool to feel more connected with fellow Jedi and see which ones are around. Are there any such Facebook groups? If not I would be happy to start one for New York after I become an actual Jedi (still waiting to send application).

I'm not sure that I understand what you are saying. I understand what goecaching is, but what is it that you are saying that the Jedi could do that is similar?

Sorry if it was confusingly written. Nothing deeply profound just Facebook groups for different areas like New York Jedi or Northeast Jedi and then Jedi could inform others of events in their area more effectively.

In fact, it does exist.
But, they are not connected to TOTJO. They are hosted by various people. Like, I co-run the Indiana Jedi. My friend Gabe does Illinois. Cabur here does New York Jedi (Empire State).
Not every state has a group yet. I don't think.

The geocaching community has grown a lot over the past few years. Now it is no problem to call for a meeting in a remote area and the geocachers will come. In my opinion this growth was too fast, especially over the past 3-5 years (also thanks to the media and the smart phones). Many good things have developed but also some bad things.
I just hope that the growth of the jedi community won't happen too fast but grow naturally.

Is this a proposal of regional Jedi Order events? Please don't tease, I'd love nothing more than to bring the Order more into the physical world.

The order is alive and well in the physical world. TOTJO had a euro gathering not too long ago. We had an American national gathering here in Indiana in July.
And there are various organizations around the US that are regional. Facebook or the Gathered Force Community (links on our TOTJO community page... I'm on mobile or I'd link you there. Help?) are the places to go!
In order to be appraised of all Jedi doings, you will need to be checking different sites. One of the beautiful things of having a rich and varied community! One of the detriments as well. Haha.
