I was working and my mind is always continually going even in my sleep. I begun to think about one of my favorite Disney movies as a child "The Little Mermaid." Arguably, one of the best Disney movies to ever come out ever. I begun to think about Aerial and her story, I begun to think how much she wanted to go onto dry land and wanted so badly to be part of that world. I thought to myself, "Isn't it so interesting we as humans we always want something that we cannot have." Or, More or less those of us who look outside the norm of our existence and acceptance of "The way things are" or, "Facts of life." Then I begun to think about her father's role in the movie King Triton. He is the king of the ocean, every fish and sea life and even the very ocean itself answer to him...he's well god in the ocean if you will. Throughout the first part of the movie he is constantly having pull his daughter back from what she is dreaming about and her desires. Eventually, through his underling Sebastian he finds out she saved a human from drowning and finds out she is in love with him. This finding causes the king to erupt into a violent rage due to his oddly enough prejudice views on humans (Wow...a kids movie displays prejudice in it...who knew? lol) He destorys the cave of human treasures that we're hidden from him and in his mind puts an end to his daughters desires....not!

Bare with me for a moment I know this is lengthy and I am about to get to my point. I find it odd the movie displayed this kind of message and I never noticed it until just recently. I understand it's a movie and that is not Walt Disney's point of the plot but, I thought to myself, "Hmm...that's interesting." I begun to think to myself, "Am I prejudice?" and "Do I think outside the box like Aerial did?" Interesting my point is as humans are we naturally prejudice against not just against different races, creeds, religions, sexuality but, also things we don't understand? Hmm...

My personal opinion is yes we are...even if we don't want to admit it. Now, I am not trying to point the finger at anyone here at TOTJO especially not myself because I don't view myself as Prejudice please don't get offended at what I am saying and open you mind with me a little bit.

1. We are prejudice when it comes to religion

A. I say this because this one of the single most biggest issues I see in our world today and my second point. Someone, happens to be "religious" and follows a certain creed and is very Evangelical or, "preachy" about it and immediately we get offended or angry. We immediately in our minds and maybe I am just talking to myself, "I am giving him/Her a black X and avoiding them." As often we avoid that person isn't it funny that person for some reason rationalizes in their mind, "Oh...I got them I am going to keep on working on them." So any chance they get they come talk to you.

B. We are unwilling to open ourselves to new ideas, we have our minds set, "This is what I believe" we have been born into our own "Rebirth" in this stage of our lives and we're unwilling to let anyone tell us otherwise. I know in my times as a young youth growing up in Buckley, WA I was very opening minded about all beliefs I would tell anyone I believed in it all, it was all good and whatever you want to believe is good to me...that was my birth in that stage of my life. As I grew older and was 17 years of age I converted my old ways and was born into the next stage of my life "Christianity" "Jesus is Lord!" I loved Jesus! I still do and his teachings but, I was terrible. Anyone that didn't believe what I did was going to hell and there was nothing you could say or do that would change my mind if you didn't believe in Jesus, confess in your heart he was Lord there was no hope for you. I was born into my prejudice view. Now, I am in TOTJO and I have been totally transformed into what I am today a Jedi and I am once again born into a new stage of my life "Acceptance, of all creeds, religions, people, ect."

2. We're Prejudice toward politics

A. These two (Religion, Politics) go hand to hand. My grandmother used to tell me, "Two, things you never talk about with people is Politics and Religion." I don't think I have to tell you why that is but, just in case you don't understand go try it sometime (laughs). But, politics are just as bad if not worst in some peoples eyes. Now, I will say there are some who can easily talk about both they do exist on this earth but, there are some who will get their toes crossed at the very mention of in the United States about a particular politician(s). We will get angry, jump down the throat of that person, vice versa on the opposite parties side and never talk to them again, "Oh that person is a Democrat how could they believe in that person...I would never vote for that person... that is just not right, oh that person is Republican...so on and so forth."

3. We're Prejudice toward different sexuality

A. In America this one of the most controversial subjects right now...It's cooled down a little bit but, the moment gay marriage was allowed in most of the known states religious organizations, certain organizations, business, cities and men and women rose up on both sides and this Country was set a blaze. Whether you agree with it or not we're all still prejudice toward it on both sides.

4. We're prejudice toward people who think outside the box

A. One of my most favorite subjects to talk with people. The known "world" we live in is always set and govern by certain laws, good and bad, right and wrong, the way things are, ect.

5. Now, that I have brought up some big examples let me say this and this is my own opinion. Why do we do this? I understand we have a difference in opinions and that we are all different after all wouldn't it be boring is we all looked, talk, and had the same views? My opinion yes. I personally as a Jedi and it is written in our creed in what we believe as Jedi and what we stand for. We're to be beacons of light and we should never go down the route of absolutes in our lives. Ask yourself this would it be right as a Jedi to stand only for Christians? Muslims? Buddhist?, Hinduisms ect? or, for us to shun gay marriage? My answer is a loud sounding no!!! We're the keepers of the peace my fellow Jedi we're to keep peace, we as Jedi don't necessarily have to agree with everything in our world today, or things people do because I believe in a factual "Dark Side" of The Force out there and there is Evil in the world, but, Where Darkness is so is the Light! I don't think we ever stop learning as Jedi and should be open to all walks, beliefs and opinions in life never close minded about anything. Now, I am not saying to you if you buddy says to you, "Hey man let's go rob a bank!" to go and be open minded and do it with him (Laughs) but, what I am saying is love our fellow men and women be understanding and not prejudice toward them. Come let's be the light of this present known world!
