Read it off of your FB post, M ...
That may be new research findings, but it is not new information ; just a "confirmation" maybe ... maybe ...
"L'esprit est toujours la dupe du cœur." ~ La Rochefoucauld, 1678
And you know, we can't even reallly complain about that ... It works out well in small communities (150 - 1500 pop.) - it keeps us 'human' in our decisions -, but when we get into the hundreds of thousands, especially the millions, we get complacent and stupid. Panem et circenses ... sound familiar ?
Mythology tells us that, philosophy tells us that, history tells us that ...
No wonder they've stopped funding the humanities.

clinging ideology and stereotypes messes up peoples ability to calculate accurately
i see this as a progress - another example of why not to be "loyal" to thoughts or beliefs
too bad the ones who need it the most wont listen lol

I wander if this only becomes a real problem when you become so wedded to your political beliefs that they become a part of your personal identity. Then at that point getting people to admit they are wrong becomes very difficult because your not just attacking a belief they hold, but something that's part of how they define themselves.
