Nor I.
And the pregnancy thing? Does that school teach the stork theory? I suppose mommy just magically lost weight after baby brother was dropped off. Wait...not allowed to talk about magic.

telling someone "i'll make you disaappear" does not at face value suggest innocent playfulness at any age
its a very personal statement at the relationship level
the child has had disciplinary problems in the past
i have no preference as to the result but its important to consider all possibilities
or rather to NOT assume the context either way

But the child obviously knew that the ring didn't make people go away, just become invisible. As he was specifically referencing the One Ring in his playing I think it very much suggests innocent playing and not intention to make people go completely away. My imaginary playing after seeing the Fellowship as a child was far more imaginarily graphic but I received no punishment. (we took turns being orcs and good guys, usually Legolas, always loved archery  )
Taking the phrase "I'll make you disappear" out of the context of the situation can make it seem bad, but so would taking "Now I will eat you all!" out of the context of a child playfully talking to his animal crackers. (I hope I'm not the only one who [strike]does[/strike] did that. )
As for his past disciplinary problems, they were also rediculous. Him talking about the color of another students skin warranted an explination, not punishment, and I've already talked about the book issue.

i didnt read the entire article when i posted
now reading that what he really said was "youll be invisible" along with the context of the previous incidents it looks like the school is threatened by a child thats better educated than themselves
reminder to me to never assume context
yay learning!
