This was an intentional endeavor, Adder. It took time and effort to instill the image and perfect it as much as possible so that it could act as said conduit for said purposes. I trust this as much as I trust the intuitive interpretations of the will of the Force in a person as per my recent explanation here .

Yes I have a similar view, but if 'it' becomes anthromorphised such as a vision of a person or an actual voice, then I think it gets complicated!! and more interesting!!

Introverted extropian, mechatronic neurothealogizing, technogaian buddhist.
Likes integration, visualization, elucidation and transformation.

Not as complicated as you might think, actually.

Obi-Wan from the Prequels, first of all because I like Ewan McGregor more than Alec Guinness, but second of all because I think he is at his prime in Episode III.

Otherwise I do believe that we all have Spirit Guides that help us out all the time. Most times we don't realize it but sometimes it is so obvious you can't miss it. I have never tried to meet me Guide in meditation but psychologist and past life regression expert Dr. Michael Newton said that when you pass on the souls that inhabited the bodies of the people you were close to will present themselves to you in a way that you'll find comforting. So perhaps, as your Guide will understand, the person on your shoulder is your Guide but you feel comfortable thinking of them as an old Jedi Master so they will present themselves to you as such.

I agree that guidance come from within. We are our own Masters. We have our own agency.

At the same time, Having a "Master" is helpful. Having a coach or a guide to assist a person to awaken to that self knowledge is helpful. We all need help at times. We are social being. We are connected via the Force and we can rely on that connect as needed - as long as we do not become reliant upon that "connection".

If a Master is a Sefu - (one who has come before me) and not a "limitation" or a "crutch", then I see it as a powerful catalyst to a student's development.

I could name many masters - Eckhart Tolle, Kahlil Gibran and other like them.

For Jedi, Luke would be good. Nomi Sunrider would be a good one, too.

The Master/Apprentice relationship cannot be a commodity. If that happens, training will not matter anymore. lol.

It should be a bond formed by a developed relationship. I see many training masters here who develop good relationships with their students... being a friend, being a loved one, being a guide... and, the master being the student; the student being the master.

Although I have a spirit guide and am quite happy with him, if I were to chose a fictional one it'd be Qui-Gon Jinn. Master Yoda would probably be what I need more but he would vex me lol
