Im curious if anyone can offer any examples of real life people or organizations that embody the principals of either jedi or sith
(outside of the jedi community i mean)
Not too much needed just who they are/were and zomething about them that explains why the rate either way
Thanks

For example, I'm sure most people would consider Hitler and the Nazi regime to be a Sith-like organization and leader, but then what about everyone in Germany who agreed with him? I'm sure he definitely didn't see himself as an evil person.
Then there is is the Hashashin, the real life brotherhood of assassins. From the outside, they look like just a group of murderers, but within their society they did what they did for what they felt was the greater good by attacking political figures they saw as corrupt.
It's all a matter of perspective, my friend. To the people themselves and those who agree with them, they might be seen as comparable to Jedi, but to those who don't, Sith.

Let's make it clear, the man did some undeniably horrid things to people, but at the same time he did make a sincere effort to prevent the war before he was left with no choice but to start it.
Hitler adhered to the terms outlined in the treaty of Versailles, with the assumption that the allied countries would uphold their end of the treaty.
This did not happen.
As far as Hitlers eugenics program is concerned, most of the biological experiments conducted by SS doctors was actually borrowed from American eugenicist literature and practices (such as the forced sterilization of recurrent legal offenders and the mentally incompetent/ill).
Hitlers speeches, social programs, and certain aspects of his Nazi culture were taken and put in place (albeit in adapted form) here in the states, due to the undeniable effectiveness of said aspects of his campaign.
Hitler did some terrible, terrible things. Great things, in the sense that they left an undeniable mark on the worlds history which will unlikely be forgotten as long as there are people still living and rehearsing the worlds history.
So long and thanks for all the fish

Tao Te Ching III :
If you overesteem great men,
people become powerless.
If you overvalue possessions,
people begin to steal. The Master leads
by emptying people's minds
and filling their cores,
by weakening their ambition
and toughening their resolve.
He helps people lose everything
they know, everything they desire,
and creates confusion
in those who think that they know. Practice not-doing,
and everything will fall into place.

Some structure then ?
1) we either support each others pozition or leave it alone altogether.
if Jonnycomelengthly9pt5 says MICHAEL JACKSON was jedi because he dedicated himself to honest expeession and gave hope and inspiration to millions, SHALLOWHOTGURL4U doesnt get to come back with "nonono michal jackson was sith cause he poodleedoodled with tater Tots"
either support the position already offered or just use someone else for your example.
Its not algebra, theres no externally correct or incorrect answer that we all are supposed agree on. The important thing is
2) talk motives and feelings. In most cases its less about what what we do than it is about the impulse- underlying emotion and motives that lead us to do it.
and
3) Fictitious characters of pop culture are fair game also. That makes it easier, more fun and slightly less threatening to peoples sacred cows. Eh, or does it? Anyway guys objectivity should be applied to the SELF FIRTST rather than saying YOURE WRONG YOURE NOT BEING OBJECTIVE YOU DONT UNDERSTAND just chill... be lbjective about how important it is to yourself that someone else is right or wrong.
MY FIRST PICK:
ELMER FUDD;
SITH.
Why?
He acted out for violent revenge when he was embarassed and outsmarted. The only reason i cant prove he is a murderer is because he was too stupid to bag that wascawy wabbit, but he wouldve if he couldve, and who knows how many unfortunate victims we'll never hear about?
Clearly a follower of the dark side: if all he wanted was dinner he could have ordered vegan take out or he would have already taken responsibility to grow his own organic, non corporate community based garden.
Violent and self serving.

I think the connection is obvious to us all.
