A few years ago I went to Lands End in Cornwall in the UK.. For those who don't know it's the furthest western point in the UK. If there was any natural beauty, I couldn't see it beyond the tacky shops and cafes and you couldn't even go to the end because there was a fence up.

From those who have been there, I've heard the Niagara falls are much the same.. with large hotels, rubbish etc.

If you've ever been to the pyramids at Giza you know the whole place surrounding it full of a disgusting amount of litter and people harrassing you to buy things.

Where's the respect for our history or for the natural beauty of our planet?

For some countries, like Egypt, tourism is a massive income source... but where on the line between preservation and destruction sits tourism?

It won't let me have a blank signature ...

I think Capra found a pretty good hypothesis :

At 1:05:50, they talk a bit about that.

Ironically, le Mont St Michel is also full of tourist crap.
